I have an '06 Uly that just turned 27.6K miles. For the most part I haven't had any big problems except for routine maintenance (brakes, oil changes, tires, batteries, front fork seals). I did have the rear wheel bearings go out last summer and most recently had my belt break at 27.5k miles. The only other things were self induced by letting the bike tip over on the stand and breaking the mirror and clutch handle (DOH!!!). I'm wondering when other things are going to start going like the clutch. How many miles are you all getting out of your clutches?

My 06 bike had 9k I it when I bought it ava the previous owner said he replaced the clutch at 8k....used the bike for escorting bicycle races....said the clutch have up after a slow day of
slipping the clutch all day....so....your already doing better than mine did

30k, perfect clutch.

S2 also has 30+ on it, no clutch issues.

Had 50k on a 99 M2 - my first bike ever - never replaced the clutch.

I wanna say I put about 50k on an old FLHP I had, with a worked motor - no clutch replacement.

It's all in how you ride it, and how (if) you keep it in adjustment.

A clutch can be taken out pretty fast on these bikes if you choose to slip the thing until it's fried. I've done it. Upon inspection, I found that I only needed to replace a few disks in the center of the pack to bring it back to life at about $11 each.

My X1 clutch lasted to 50K (grenade plate)
My XB12X just crossed 50K with the stocker.

Over 30k on my '06 Uly clutch still does not slip.
Disengages cleanly, that is, neutral can be easily selected with the engine running.

Assuming you properly maintain the bike and don't abuse the clutch, it should last forever. Both of my XBs are over 40k miles on their originals.

My 06 will slip in 4th and 5th when it hits the power band. (5000 rpm) I know when I went up Engineer Pass in 2007 I still had the stock gearing and over 10,000 feet I had to slip the clutch a lot to get it to climb through the uphill switchbacks. I must have taken 80% of it's life away on that ride. I think I'll change out the clutch pack this next Winter, just have to stay away from drag racing for now!

60,000+ on the stock one. I always wondered that also, being such that I did a lot of hot summer two up at over 500 lbs total load weight in the Smoky Mountains even.

It is still working well and properly. I run Formula+ at every other oil change(6,000 to 7,000 miles) and lube the cable and keep things adjusted.

The PO of my '08 replaced the clutch with a Barnett item and Muller power pull for a lighter clutch effort. So it has less than 4000 miles on it. It's holding up well...

I've replaced Sportster and big twin clutches in order to support performance engine upgrades but now years later I'm not sure I couldn't have got years of good service out of the stock units. The last a long time.

Had 32,000 on my 08XT when I sold it. Clutch was original and fine.

Riding the clutch escorting bicycle races? Really? Were they kids on trikes?

60k so far on the original clutch in my '08. A bunch of triathlon escorts (bike and run). No issues to report. I check the adjustment as scheduled but have rarely needed to make a change.

adjustment as scheduled but have rarely needed to make a change.

I have found this to be true with my clutch also as well as the primary chain. I believe I have only adjusted it one time.

The only clutch problem I've ever experienced is having to replace the clutch cable one time. Parting with the $60 for the cable was the biggest problem.

52k on my current clutch, I ride like a jack a55, go off road alot and generally punish it. NO slippage.

No wonder I cant sell my bike...

20K on mine. Off-road only once, so easy life. Quite a bit of city work, though. Most fun bike I've ever been on.

30k on my original clutch. I adjust it per the service manual and periodically lube the cable. I have had zero issues with it.

Charlie, You gotta quit posting pictures of when the bike is involved in stupid stuff! You know, like when it is three feet in the air, or knee deep rooster tailing through mud. Though it makes for cool pictures, these are not particularly good selling points!
