With 2000 miles on the new type AKF belt it has now become more flexible and more like the AKE belt was from new. I can see almost no wear on the teeth and it tracks perfectly. I am not saying it will last any longer but if it does I will be the first to know if it is worth the extra cost over the AKE belt. |

I replaced an AKC (?- I think that's what it was; purchased in 2008) belt with an AKF about a month ago. It's loosening up very slowly but it was amazingly tight at first. It got very hot on the first couple of ~30 mile interstate rides too. |

My 06 bike came with a AKD belt which was replaced with a AKE belt. That broke and was then replaced with a AKF belt but the bike was then stolen so I have no idea if it was any good. The 10 bike came with a AKE belt and now has the AKF belt. It is said that the new AKF belt is based on the build used for the "R/CR" series bikes because of there extra power but who knows if they will be any better on the Uly. |

Are these the OE belts or aftermarket ones, please? |

I got 19,000km out of my last belt -- an AKF. I attribute its short-ish life to occasional hooliganism and several fairly laden trips. Currently have a new Goodyear Falcon belt on the bike. |

Turf_moor- the AK_ designations all refer to the OEM Goodyear belts. The last letter indicates the belt series; Goodyear has updated the belt regularly since the Uly came out to improve the reliability. |

Thanks, Hughlysses. My first one on an 06 went at 11,900 miles. The current one has only done 7,200 so should have a fair bit left on it. That's when I get round to using the Uly again. I need to get it on Portuguese plates soon. |
