any functional reason for the chin fairing?
thinking of a Stainlesss wing for the two front holes on the muffler - wouldn't miss it at oil change time...

It provides cooling by directing airflow to the motor. (In fact the Blast muffler has a patent for the scoop being part of the muffler design)

That said, no harm would come to not run with it on.
