Just curious, for those who have used the 2" barbed PVC, was this on the older 43mm forks? Please correct me if wrong but my 09 Ulysses has the 47s right? If 2" PVC will work for me please let me where to find it as my local hardware & auto parts places only carry 1.5". For those who bought a driver are the multi diameter drivers any good or should I go with a dedicated 47mm & what brand.

It's easy to overthink it.
I used a piece of 2" the first time but found myself dinging up the tube while tapping on it. I now use black electrical tape. I just wrap layers of tape on the tube till it's built up sufficiently and push the seal in with it. Works real well and it's free because I use the old tape that's been in the drawer for too long.

To drive the seal with that 2" barbed pvc you do not need to hit it with anything. Put on a good cowhide glove and grab and drive(slide) the pvc into the seal. Make darned sure you have oiled the inside of the tube that the seal is being driven and the seal itself. It'll drive right into place with just a drive gloved hand with no problem. Don't use a hammer.

You have it right, the 2" is for the older forks, which I found out the hard way. Dan's tape idea sounds like it would work. I ended up angling one half of the PVC and tapped it in but it took a bit. You do have take care not to hit the tube with whatever you're banging the PVC with.

I watched a video on youtube where a guy took the old fork seal and cut it in two halves (2 ea. 180 degree sections of fork seal) and used one of those to drive the new seal into position with a hammer. He wrapped the fork leg with paper to keep from scratching it with the hammer.

I'm getting ready to replace mine. I chickened and bought the correct tool from American Sport Bike.

I've got photos here and just grab it with a gloved hand and slam the seal into place. It works. No need to do it with a hammer. The glove just allows you to do it without hurting your hand or the forks at all.

Thanks for the added advice. I'll hopefully get to this project within the next week so I am trying as hard as I can to have most everything on hand before beginning.

Y'all try the black tape method. You won't go back. Wrap it about 3/16 thick, place one end against mom's carpet and push the other end down. Pushes right in slick as you please.
Don't tell mom.

After trying some of the homemade solutions....I just went ahead and bought the Posse 43mm fork seal driver...well worth the $38 investment.

Do it like EG says.

Are you sure the seal needs to be replaced? It may be just dirt under the seal. It was with mine.
