Marinus,I've got a few more questions. How much do you think it lowered your seat height? I have about a 30" inseam and I'm on my tip toes. How much better is your footing? Is .75 out of the kickstand enough? I appreciate all the feed back, Bill |

im finished trading bikes and losing my butt... ive owned a bunch of bikes, but the uly is one of my all time favorites.. i need to lower the uly, bottom line...me thinks that the SS rear shock might be the item, as its shorter than the TT, isnt it?... it might be hard to find someone who would want to trade forks for some shorter ones, but ill bet one of these blokes who are building a mutant could use them, due to the rake.. the only down side i see from this venture, is that i believe i will lose some load carrying capacity..maybe using the stock forks and the increased rake on the uly isnt all that bad, as long as its stable...im not real keep on dropping the forks in the clamps... i did that on my street-rod and had a few issues.... when you are in loose gravel or sand, you have to be able to flat foot a bike... thats my opinion, but i have seldom gone off the pavement on a bike.. |

Correct.

Not as hard as you think. I am looking to give up my SS suspension, not sure wither to get the STT, or XT, or aftermarket. |

Werewulf, I've got a new SS shock I'll let go of for $150.00 shipped. It's around 13.6" eye to eye. The STT is supposed to be around 14.25" eye to eye. The Uly is supposed to be around 15" eye to eye. |

Werewolf, If you go by ground clearance, the STT is 1.25" lower than the Uly. The SS is 2.09" lower than the Uly. |
