Anybody have any idea whether the two hoses attached to the carbon canister can be reversed?

I removed them today to give me more room to route my new exhaust cable. I was positive as to which one I removed from which attachment.

When I went to replace them is when I noticed the can was marked "tank" and "carb". I then rechecked the hoses I disconnected and I am 99.9% sure that if I replaced them the way I removed them they would be reversed from the markings on the can.

Hooked them up per the markings and everything's good. What's in that canister anyway, besides charcoal? Any valving or anything?

I can't remember. I took my canister and all the plumbing off. I capped the purge port at the throttle body and extended the hose coming off the vent valve on the top of the frame to behind the left footpeg. If any fuel drips out it will be behind the footpeg like the 49 state bikes.

I think this is the same canister design that BMW put on their US bikes. Charcoal is inside the container.

To test if you have the correct cables, you should be able too blow fairly easily into one of the cables (this is the tank side), the other one you won't be able to blow into (carb side). At least this is how it works on my BMW.
