Brakes - congrats on the Uly! Here is a seat comparison we did a couple of years ago. We currently have the 07 seat on our 06 Uly and love it. Hope this helps. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=142838&post=760948#POST760948 |

Brakes2late, There are some changes to the 07 seat that make it a little lower (over the stock 06)and I believe a little narrower. It also moves the material seams such that the seams rub a little less for some riders. I have an 06 with an 07 seat and prefer it. Some prefer the width of the 06 over the 07 so YMMV. The fan affects each rider individually it seems. Some hardly notice the noise while others find it really takes away from the experience of riding. My fan is the single most annoying part of the Buell Uly experience and I really like the Uly. There are some very nice improvements on the 08 Uly but none come near the appeal that a quieter fan would hold for me personally. Ear plugs help or sometimes a different helmet will help.. or a louder muffler. The good news is that the engine will run cooler as break-in progresses. That means less fan. After about 2k miles I noticed the fan ran less and it seems to continue to follow this pattern which is good. When a third party comes up with a reliable and quiet replacement I will be the first with a fist of money to throw down<grin>. |

Thanks for all the help on the seat. They're going to put an 07 on it for me. I sat on the 07 and I could definitely tell the difference. I think I'll do a little research on the fan see if I can find one with the same specs, but quieter... |

If I were you, I would ask the dealer for the stock seat. (for free) You said yours came with the lower seat, right? The stock one is probably in the way somewhere in the service department if it's not in the trash already. I prefer it for riding comfort. (seriously) Then drill a 1/8" hole near the end of one of your fan blades so that it whistles. Tell everyone it's a turbo. {joke} Congratulations on your new Buell! You are in for a hell of a ride! Loud fans save lives. ;) |

Well, I picked up my Uly last night. The 07 seat made a huge difference. I'm pretty much flat footed with the pre-load on #4. I can't believe how much lighter this thing is than my ZREX. I forgot what it felt like to go around a corner without the bike feeling like it has a hinge in the middle..... |

Yep, the 07 seat is nice. Nothing like having a new bike to explore. Have a great time. |
