Did I say something wrong? I sure don't want to be a thread killer!
I have been interested in removing the BAS since I learned of it's existence and will do so eventually. I have worn out many bikes without them and have never been burned to death or whatever else that piece of electronic poop is supposed to prevent. From what I've gathered while waiting for the next reply on this thread, I will need stuff I don't have in order to spoof the ECM before removal of the BAS. If this is correct, is there anyone in the PNW that has the software, hardware available to do this for me? If it's not correct, would someone please enlighten me?

I will have the BAS replaced until I have to start paying for them myself.

At that point, I'll jaunt over to Barkers house and have my BAS "removed" from the loop.

Panhead Dan,

I have the software and cable to do this. I am located in Auburn, WA if you can't find someone closer.

My dog's name is Panhead.

Packdog,
Thank you.
I would likely not be able to get up there till next spring/summer but it is a great excuse for a ride at that time. Maybe someone closer will turn up this winter.

Is your dog hard to start when its cold out and maybe leaks a little?

Panhead Dan - Yes, that exactly describes the mutt.... how did you know??

F_B - wow, so it's the potato chips that are causing THAT?? I guess I better cut back on them!
