I heard from a reliable source that Buell paid $5.00 a bottle for the water! |

Alright, for those of you who were in the tech seminar on Friday with Erik... He mentioned where the Pegasus came from, and also to translate some Latin that came from the same place. I did a little research and its defiantly something he lives by! |

2957.6 miles from when Terri and I left home to when we returned, last night. What an Incredible week! I don't think I could have had much more fun; well, if they had let us do one more lap at Road America... Anyway, I want to thank: Buell Motorcycle Company. For making such great bikes and for spending a ton of money on us owners. I bet that the lunch at the factory, alone, cost $35 a head. Thanks also for letting us be among the first to see the 1125R. It really means a lot that you treat us as honored guests. Hal's H-D/Buell. for putting on the Drags, with food, the stunt shows, and for making the whole Homecoming a better time. Uke's H-D/Buell. For the Bubba Blackwell show, and more free food. You've got a pretty neat Museum, too. CCS. For allowing us the chance to sit out in the sun in 98 degree weather with our riding gear on for two hours while we waited in line for the chance to ride a parade lap of Road America. But mostly, I want to thank the PEOPLE: Erik Buell Court Canfield Bad S1 (Dana) and Naughtynurse (Andrea) If you want the best cheese enchiladas in Racine, they know where to get them. Diablo Brian A real class act - he donated a bottle of 18 year old single malt scotch for Buell owners while the Thunderbolts played at the Boiler Room) Tattoodandscrewed (Brian) For opening up his garage to us and offering free cleaning and detailing. Steve Mackay and Toni For letting Terri sit on his bike. Now we've got to figure a way to come up with the money to buy another Buell. Bud C For all the work he put in to make the event so much fun. OZ666 (Don) For putting Terri and I up at his house on the way out, and for the maps, and for being a Unique Character. Coolice and Fiery XB For the T-shirt and the warm welcome while prepping a race bike. It always comes down to the People. There are so many great people associated with Buells, that it gets hard to remember them all. Electraglider1997 (Craig), his wife Terri and son Sage all three rode their bikes out from Nebraska Etennuly Wolf Ridge Rider Maximum and his son (that red Uly looks even better in real life) 1313 Jlnance BluzM2 the guys from Sport Twin who were giving out free T-shirts at the Boiler Room I wish I could remember names better; there are a lot of people whose faces I can see, but I haven't got a clue what there names are. If I met you and didn't mention you, please don't be offended. Every time I get around a gathering of Buell Enthusiasts, I am stricken by the quality of the experience. TERRI AND I HAD A GREAT TIME AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!! |

I loved that mototrack they had to demo the Buells. I took the Blast out for the heck of it. After riding it, like any other Buell motorcycle I've demoed I had a smile. IT was truely a blast to ride around on that course. Loved the tour, ability to see the new engines on the 2008 XB motorcycles. Next year we'll plan better for that trip. What a long haul out there it was. |

So, I missed the tour Friday, were there 2008 XB's on the line then? Because I went to the factory on Monday for a tour since we missed it. And low and behold, the 1125r was on the line!! In production..=) |

After this year, we have no choice but to be at the 25th Anniversary next year. Hopefully, by then Terri will have her own Buell. (She really liked the TT that she Demo'd, and she loved Steve Mackay's bike with the Uly seat when he let her sit on it.) I heard a rumor that the dates for next year's Homecoming will be announced real soon. I hope that's true. |

I'm already looking forward to next homecoming, in fact that started about the time we rolled out of "Scott" and Toni's driveway. I understand that there are some cool events in the making, with planning that started last year. |

I thought it would be fun to write Laura a note of appreciation about Homecoming in thanks for what she did. I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next year! The address can be found here(wait for it to load all photos, then it will get there): http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=142838&post=924047#POST924047 |

I got a nice note back from her last night. She's raised the bar in my book for Homecoming events and just in the nick of time. . . next year will be THE event to attend. If you were one of the lucky folks this year I sure hope you'll get a note on the way to her with a copy to Flick. I want Laura to have all the "political capital" she can headed toward next year. Of interest to some might be that there was not even going to be ANY event this year, to rat hole funds for next year. Laura played a role, with support from Flick, in getting that changed. WRITE It makes a bigger difference than you can imagine. Court |

I started a new thread in the Storm Front section for the 2008 Homecoming. Dates are probably going to be announced late this week or sometime next week according to a posting elsewhere. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=37&post=930506#POST930506 |

OK, better late than never, here's a few of my favorite pics from homecoming. I hope my arms get longer before Thursday morning's early departure...
Bubba's new Ultra glide, ya I think I could wheelie that, NOT!
Every year just before homecoming, I think about slapping a custom paintjob on my bike, but then I go naaa. Then I see bikes like this and I'm blown away. Apparently this belongs to fellow badwebber Freak. Very nice paint job.
I've never seen trapper move as fast as he did after spotting these aluminum bags.
Maximum and other Colorado Buellers discuss how awesome my stock firebolt is...or they may have just been talking about riding from Colorado!
Buell volunteer Tom I think? and DiabloBrian melt with the rest of us for the parade lap
One of my favorite spots on Sunday, you could watch the ASRA bikes zing by, and the Supermoto bikes fly off the whoops at the same time
Sunday sometime before 3:30, Marty tells Gary, how about we tell 'em something like " I can't tell you anymore about the product, but I can assure you it will be worth the wait!"
Laura keeps the surprise bike under wraps
Monday morning, 3:30 AM depart from Victorian Village to make the ferry
hurry up and wait to load the Lake Express sometime around 5AM
I was all impressed with my 1850 mile round trip, until we met Mike on the ferry. He had just taken a three week Adventure to Alaska! My first clue he was serious was the motocross boots strapped across his luggage!
My fellow CNY Badweb guys, me, FPresky, Trapper and Carpedium81
Ok, this was on the ferry on Thursday after an all day push to make the boat, but this Bud's for all the folks who made this year's Homecoming a truly awesome event. Thanks, we all had a great time!

Thanks for the update! I'm already looking to next year (first time for two years in a row for me). I wouldn't mind riding one of the 1125r's there, just don't know if I can get it done. |

I know I can't buy an 11 this year... Well, I could, but there would be too many consequences... I love the new bike, but honestly, if I was buying brand new Buell this year - I'd still have to go with a fully luggaged Uly. I rode my S3t though 2 miles of bulldozed construction zone the other day rather than take a detour... |
