We made it too. Sharon and I are at the Comfort Inn. Racine had a great fireworks show over the lake last night. Had to take the van to the Chevy dealership this morning as a door hinge failed upon arrival and unloading. Lox beam failed on the 'bolt last night...but we're here! Racine HD/Buell is right next door. That's our first stop then hopefully to 'tattoodnscrewd' before heading to Hal's. Bret | ||

Just came from the Drags after a 50 mile high speed run from Hal's. Food, racing and a good band...all for $5. Can't beat that. Now it's off to the boiler room. Rumors of reported sightings of '08s on the streets! | ||

Hey, I just ran into a HUGE FREAKING PROBLEM... My hanger that is welded to my WileyCo muffler and attaches under the voltage regulator just snapped off. I have it held on by a hose clamp. Does anyone have a welder that I can weld this back on? I'm leaving South Bend, IN tomorrow afternoon for arrival in Wisconsin tomorrow evening. PLEASE HELP!! Cell is 574-274-0143 call anytime so we can set it up if at all possible!! Thanks! Wilson | ||

I sadly did not make it up today, had some hot stuff come up at work so I was there until 5 and would not have hit Racine until after 9 and then have a 4 am departure for my other weekend obligations. Have fun everyone, wish I was up there with you! Spidey- Thanks so much man! | ||

Hope everyone enjoyed the ride to Great Lakes from Hal's ... and hope you had a good time at the strip .. This probably won't be seen by many people this late but -- For those that are going to the factory tomorrow (well .. today ... )- if you want to meet at Hal's again and ride out from there ... be there at 8am .. kickstands up by 8:30am... Also -- anyone who wasn't able to make it by my place today that still wanted to stop by and take car of their bike .. or whatever .. Myself and a few others are not going to RA until Saturday - so after the factory we thought about riding for a bit and then ending up at my place for grub, drinks, bike stuff, and a fire later on ... Talk to me tomorrow(Friday) if you care to join .. Brian | ||

Don't ever miss a chance to see the Thunderbolts, and promise that you will stop at the Boiler Room if you're ever in 'Wisco'. Super 8 Racine; 9:00 departure for the factory! | ||

Well, somehow I need to get my broken bike to Wisconsin. I can't cancel the hotel the day of. Wish someone could help. If I make it there it will be on a wing and a prayer, maybe limping, because if those header bolts break on the way, well, I'll probably be going head over heels... Need Welder, will provide beer for after the job...LOL | ||

Update : I just got the bracket welded back on while at work! Went out during lunch with a buddy and pulled off the elbow and then brought it into one of the maintenance guys who welded it back on...going to be installing I after work! I love union shops. You guys have no idea how bummed I've been until he handed me that piece. It sure ain't pretty...well. you'll see it! See you guys tonight! What's going on tonight??? Tomorrow night I think I'll ride with Brett to Plymouth for the fireworks...Anyone want to join? | ||

It's been an incredible day! The factory tour and seminars were amazing. Met and talked to a bunch of people at the factory. It sounds like a Great place to work. From Production to Engineering to Management, everyone enjoyed their jobs. Which means they build better products. They're the kind of people I want building my bike. Erik gave a seminar on the History of Buell motorcycles with a Q&A session afterwards. I especially enjoyed his views on styling. Bubba Blackwell put on a fun and impressive show at Uke's. I'm exhausted, but I'm having so much fun, they'll probably make Homecoming illegal. Tomorrow, Road America! | ||

it was a great day. met at hals this morning for a group ride over. got to the factory, and already a lot of folks there. they said more people than any other homecoming. sure looked like a lot of bikes. great to see the bikes being built as usual, and as mentioned , good to always see old friends. starting to see some customing of the new buells, like the tubers used to have done. very neat ideas. buell puts on a good food spread. and like mentioned the people there are great to meet and talk with. they are very proud of what they do, and enjoy working at buell. lots of women riding their own buells this year. erik was signing autographs all day long. very hot outside. he was outside forever signing bikes and talking with everyone. two different seminars today. first one with one of their engineers. really sharp fellow. Lots of formulas and thoughts. filled the room. then erik talked in the afternoon. he had to catch a plane, but still talked to everyone over time, answering questions. next year is going to be 25 years.! could be great next year, since it is twenty five years. ukes was also a great host. Bubba did a great show for everyone, ukes furnished food again. then went to texas road house for ribs...stuffed...wow. tomorrow to the track......then fly home.......watch the internet to see if there is anything new announced on sunday morning........ | ||

Well, I decided to save the money on gas and the six hours of drive time, and not go to the track today. Instead, heading back to chicago to catch the plane to arizona, and spend a day at home, before heading out on the road again to northern cal. sorry I missed you guys at the track today. take a lot of photos and pass them along tomorrow, when you see the unveiling. thanks REX |
