If it was a GOOD "stable" then yes, I'd be upset about it getting unstable. But as the article points out...we're destabilizing despots. And tyrants. And intellectual property thieves.

In a stunning move today, President Trump had the House Democrats responsible for withholding the articles of impeachment arrested, and sent to Gitmo.
They will be held there incommunicado until after the investigation into Iranian campaign contributions has been completed, and then prosecuted for treason for trying to thwart the obvious will of the House to Impeach the President. White House spokeswoman said. "We don't dare let them collude with the Enemies of the United States, one more day. Evidence might be lost, and they might again try and not Impeach the President in a timely manner, which they themselves have said is vitally important to our Democracy."
Here is a question for all the people on this forum that are smarter than I. (which is most of you).
Can Trump appeal this to the Supreme Court? I know it's not explicitly mentioned in the Constitution but the SC is charged with settling disputes at the federal level.
Congress can take his refusing to supply documents to a court. Which may or may not support Executive privilege to withhold them. And then appeal a lower court decision to the Supremes. Ditto Congress can take him or his minions to court to force them to testify, and the Prez can appeal that, etc.
There's going to be a lot of that going on. As it should be.
Once it goes to the Supreme court, it's over unless you want to go beyond the law and it's possible for the Supremes to not take a case, so the lower court ruling stands.
Going beyond the law could mean that the Prez just doesn't obey them. Obama did that. Congress didn't care enough to impeach him. Don't expect to get away with that yourself.
I don't expect Trump to do that, it would wreck his reputation. He'd lose the reelection. Barry had the Media on his side, so they just refused to report his crimes. Trump can't do that.
I don't see him taking it laying down. Nor do I see where he actually did anything wrong - and any TRUE court in the land will decide that. Even RBG has hinted at that. "Obstruction of Congress"?? WTF is that? The Dems are playing "legal word jumble" and just creating phrases that sound ominous and criminal...
My understanding, back when we actually had Civics classes in school, was that no branch of government could FORCE any other branch of government to their will. No branch could take total Dictator-like control, either, but that's part and parcel with not being able to force their will on the other two branches.
That's called "Checks And Balances".
You don't get to tell everyone else what to do...regardless of who you (think you) are.
You can't make this shit up! Nutty Nancy is going after McConnell now. She said not only has Trump gone rogue, but does not like the way this impeachment is ending.
Didn't think it could get more fun to watch....but here we are!
"Shakes" Pelosi is waiting for the results of the next November election. If President Trump is reelected, the House remains in the Socialist Democrat Party's hands, and the Senate wins a super majority of anti-Trumpers, then the House will transmit the Shampeachment and the Senate trial begins late January 2021. President Trump is then removed from office shortly thereafter. Nothing in the Constitution precludes this scenario.
However, Civil War II would easily break out and America will be destroyed. America will become an Empire to reunify itself at the cost of the abrogation of the Constitution. This is close to what happened in Rome.
It's comical how fast the Dims have spun from we have to rush the impeachment because Trump is a threat to our nation. The day of the vote Schiff actually stood there and claimed that the President and his people were plotting as we speak. Suddenly it's time to not turn the articles of impeachment to the Senate? Kind of gives you whiplash! It really clarifies the fact that they didn't take this seriously. It's nothing but political abuse of their power. They've made it perfectly clear that they know they have impeached an innocent President. They have also cemented their place in history. History will judge this to be a very dark time in US history.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, the stock market marches onward and upward. If this were a serious impeachment, the market would be shaken badly. Hasn't happened. People who make their living watching for the smallest news stories that may shake up the market have simply ignored this story completely. Serious people see it for the farce it is.
I really don't know what kind of hatred it takes to do this to our nation. I really don't understand the hatred that leads normal people to support these politicians. It really does take a special kind of evil in your soul.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...
Billy Graham, father of Franklin Graham, founded Christianity Today, in 1956.
Franklin Graham on his father's opinion of Donald Trump on Facebook: "He knew Donald Trump, he believed in Donald Trump and he voted for Donald Trump. He believed that Donald Trump was the man for this hour in history for our nation."
Sounds like you don't like Franklin Graham. I read the article. Sounds like the social justice warriors at Sojourners wrote it.
There are "liberal" Christians on the left just like there are conservatives on the right. And maybe even a few in the middle.
They interpret the Bible their way and I interpret it mine. If one believes what the Bible says about God and Satan then one could come to the conclusion that basically everything comes down to a right vs wrong, God vs Satan scenario, including exerting as much influence on humans as they possibly can. See the end in Revelation. I used to believe in a demon under every rock and the fear that it instills. Not anymore. The old testament says that a third of the stars fell from heaven, angels that aligned themselves with Lucifer against God, leaving two-thirds behind. I believe God and Satan use their tools to the best of their abilities to influence us humans in their respective directions. Except God doesn't treat us like puppets. He gives us freewill and we exercise that freedom to our benefit or detriment.
I typed the quote in just as my wife read it to me. Supposedly from Franklin Graham's Facebook page. I guess I can't trust her either?
Yeah, the two articles are so unambiguous that not a single GOP congressman agreed and so compelling that San Fran Nan won't send them on to the Senate.
As I type, DJIA up 108 pts, so the "stain" isn't sticking.
MAGA!!
I wonder if anyone seriously thinks that employment and the economy would have been better under Felonia von Pantsuit?
Satan: The great deceiver! I don't think people, on a whole, want to do satan's work but they can be deceived. The main stream media is run by those deceived. They think their doing right but just sit back and see the hatred and violence. There's your sign!
"There are "liberal" Christians on the left just like there are conservatives on the right. And maybe even a few in the middle."
Yeppers. I for one wish for more of a middle ground. My sis and I have been to Black Mountain NC, Montreat, she's always followed Billy Graham. The Gospel needs to be heard more than ever now.
The pope advocates for communism, the evil ideology that has murdered tens of millions of people. I’d say there’s a pretty big disconnect between him and Christianity. Pelosi is a lightweight hypocrite in comparison.
