If it doesn't shake and make noise it isn't a motorcycle.

|
Problems/Miles (Please be specific): |
Speedo quit at 25k, seat and ride height need help, inner shell on hard bags cracking. After I bought it from the kid, it started acting up and I noticed one of the header bolts was missing/broken off(I wanted it so bad I didn't check it out very well). When I took it to get fixed they told me it was a broken off tap and all the others had been tapped out to 3/8". $800 later it has been running like a champ ever since.
|
Other Mods/Misc/Customization.: |
None yet. Looking for an oil coooler.
|
Favorite Rides (Roads and Routes): |
Used to like Auburn 49 to Yosemite then 120 over the top to Lee Vining then 395>88>89 to South Lake Tahoe. Too many lights/stops on 49 now. Maxwell west past Lodoga then north past Stonyford and Chrome to the "T" intersection and East to Orland. Very solitary and quiet. Be careful of locals who are not used to sharing the road.

Why I do/don't ride a Buell: |
It is the latest affordable version of what I like to ride. I've owned about 20 bikes so far and yes there are a few I wish I had back if I had more space but I can only fit one in the garage with the wife's Camaro.
|
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: |
Do not give up on the mechanical/visceral quality...

Life History/Philosophy: |
I was having my 87 Ducati Paso serviced at a multi-brand dealership that included BMW. While I was waiting the salesman had me sit on a K75. He started it up and I could not tell it was running. The tach showed 500 rpm but it did not vibrate and made no noise. That to me is a two wheeled sewing machine. And yes I am a Jesus loving, animal hunting/eating, NASCAR watching, Government fearing, wood stove enjoying, bald fat redneck.
|
Top speed on 2 wheels (mph): |
140, I think. Didn't have the guts to look down any longer at the speedo on my 79 Suzuki GS1000.
|
Preferred engine oil (brand/grade): |
None at this time
