Alright guys, Im relying on the old saying "no question is a stupid question" here! -When should I check the oil level on my 99 X1? On cold engine or warm engine? There is such a big difference that I want to make sure that Im doing it correctly. |

Should be checked warm/hot ideally immediately after a ride |

Do not fill to the full mark. Keep it half way between low and high. Check when hot, immediately after you shut off the engine. |

I check mine with the bike straight, not on the side-stand. Not sure if it makes a big difference... |

Excellent read Buellistic! Recommended to anyone that has the slightest doubt on oil related concerns. Thanks again! |
