Ever see a an orthopaedic surgeon in action A fantastic experience to watch one of the masters. Do they have a design code to go by? Well, to the best of their skills, raw material available etc. they try to replicate the OEM parts Who does the structural analysis for them? Biomedical engineers - they're as difficult to discuss with as the other kinds What fastener material and grade do they use? A titanium alloy. Henrik (that Vicodin-inspired design sounds interesting ) |

Funny, one of my skeet-shooting buddies is an orthopedic surgeon. When he saw the S1 in my garage he said "Well, I guess we'll be meeting in a professional capacity someday soon!" So far, I've proved him wrong. (knock on wood...) r-t |

Hey Henrik, My right knee has reached the point that my orthopaedic surgeon can do no more except a TKR, he says. I am trying to educate myself about the procedure. Last night I was listening to someone about a new "plastic" unit. Where can I get info on any new hardware that may be available. Who makes the "best", etc? Also have you ever heard of Advanced Bio-Surfaces? I plan on calling them next week about their product. Thanks, John |

Erik, I guess you will have plenty of time to keep up with us Buelligans on the BadWeB now that you are down for a while. I found this place while down with a broken pelvis after a mishap on one of your creations! X the trip to Florida. I too made a trip to Florida during my injury and it was a bad idea. Too much activity and painpills induced a blackout that allowed gravity to get the best of me. I broke several teeth and ended up with 17 sutures after my chin hit the deck! Get well soon man, we need you! |

"How do you know how to drive a sled??? Way down there in Sunny California, " Newfie, When I lived in SoCal I saw as many snowmobiles on trailers as I see around here in Wisconsin at times. Little know fact to those outside of the region. Also, another little known item, they also have annual dog sled races in Palm Springs in the winter. Take the tram to the top of the hill/mountain and it's like being in a whole different world. Told this to some locals a few years ago who were going into manufacturing their own snowmobile design. They didn't believe me. They got as far as making some write-ups in the sled press and got a few working prototypes produced. They are now out of business. Cart, horse, cash, all have to be arranged in proper order. Live and learn. Was interesting to see the FEA of the front suspension being worked out though during lunch hours where we all were working at the time. Anyway, back on topic, Erik, keep the rubber side down, and heal fast. Blastin, Perhaps you should loan him your flyscreen for next year: "This side up". |

Ferris, How do you know how to drive a sled??? Way down there in Sunny California... Newf, i've never ridden a snowmobile in my life, but how hard can it be? (Erik, no need to answer that...) as for Sunny California, i need to get you down here and show you around. a lot of people have the wrong idea about what Cali is all about -- i know I did before i moved here. i live in the Sierras and there's PLENTY of snow to recreate in this time of year.
