Anyone have one of these? If so, what are your opinions?

I've got the FMF carbon slip-on now and figured if I'm going to ceramic coat my headers I might as well get a full system and coat the headers to save some downtime.

Also, for those of you who do have the full systems did you go Ti or stainless?

I'm leaning towards stainless but it appears only the midpipe and muffler are Ti. $1k difference retail seems like a lot for just the midpipe and muffler.

I have the Ti system. 2 things immediately become apparent: 1. it is beautiful. 2. It LOUD. I need to start wearing earplugs when I ride.

It really is loud, but it does sound good. It cools incredible quickly and saves tons of weight over the stock system. I can't say how much, because I bought it that way. I have an EBR ECM tuned for use with it, but can't compare lower rpm ridability or performance to stock for the same reason I cannot give an accurate weight savings.

Just got a call a few minutes ago, found out that fmf will apparently no longer be making the full systems for the 1125. I guess the pipes that are out there are it.

I will continue making mine for the foreseeable future though.

I have the FMF full stainless system. I had mine ceramic coated and it looks amazing. It is extremely loud and I had no performance improvement at all even with the Buell Racing ECM from before and after dyno runs although there may have been other reasons.

Dean, do you have any plans on making a full system at any point in time?

I might get talked into it eventually. I've had one guy in particular that's been after me for over a year to make a set. I need to do another valve check on mine anyway, my plan was to pull the frame for the check. I need to get some flanges made if I'm going to do it.

titanium is not the be all end all people think it is, it can crack over repeated heat cycles, hence why i just made my full race system from inconel

Why not the EBR full system? It's great.

Jet fighter exhausts are made of titanium alloy.

Inconel can crack over repeated heat cycles too.

Poor design, excess vibration, stress concentrations, redial stresses at welds, and asmyou mention cyclic thermal stresses can cause any metal to crack.

Dean I assume you mean the flanges where the headers meet the heads. If you can get me a print of what you need, and what you want it made out of, I can make you some flanges.

Greg, that's what I was referring to. I normally have custom stuff cut with a laser, might need a couple of prototype parts made. I can always machine them out myself if it came down to it, but I'd rather not.

Just let me know. As long as you don't need them in a rush, just send me some material and a print and I'll take care of the rest. I can source material as well if need be, I may be able to get better pricing. We hope to get a laser next year. When I was at Mits HQ I saw one of their 6-axis 3D laser/welders running. Incredible equipment.

Alaska/Freight,

Thx for the insight. I'm running the Apex slip-on now and K&N(not for power increase just 1 less part I have to buy from HD) with an EBR ECM. I'm not really too concerned with power increases or even slight decreases as I can't exploit the full performance of the bike on the street anyway.

@99BuellX1, While EBR and others do make great stuff, I guess I just like the look of the FMF system better. : )

theres always a termi if you REALLY wanna be different...although i dont much care for it lol....also with the FMF full system it is COMPLETELY different than the slip on end so you'd be forkin over 2k regardless just about...http://corsacomponents.com/termignoni-exhaust/buell/1125-r/full-system.html

K, so just received the Ti Full system today.

Initial impressions are it's a really nice looking exhaust. Seems pretty lightweight but not having weighed the stock headers can't comment on whether they are lighter or not(I remember the stock headers on my XB12Ss seemed to weigh nothing). Full Ti silencer doesn't seem like it would be lighter than the Carbon FMF Slip-on that I've got on there now however it's much shorter and the ID is much larger. Header/midpipe also seem larger ID. Looks like this will flow much, much more.

The bad, any weight advantage will sure be set off by all the springs needed to hold the slip joints together. j/k : )

Actually I did notice some slag inside the header around the O2 sensor bungs that I'll need to grind off.

Overall, pretty nice. A little disappointed about the weld slag on a $2,200 exhaust system but I'll live.

Will try to snap a picture before I send it all to be ceramic coated.

Looks like the crud inside the header around the O2 sensor bungs isn't weld slag like I originally thought but excess material from when they drilled the bunghole, heh-heh, I sed 'bunghole.'

Sure wish they'd have waltzed over it with a grinder or even file. Would have been a whole lot easier to clean up prior to welding on the bung.

Craptacular pictures:

Nels - please post up pre-post dyno's if you do them.

Hard to believe (not doubting you FD) no increase w/ a race system and proper Race ECM...

FMF has been a favorite on my other bikes, so would love to see if it's worth the $.

Pics and vids always appreciated too!

Oh man. I hate to admit it, but been too busy w/Thanksgiving, hosting our annual Christmas(that's right, Christmas, not 'Holiday' lol) party, and my son's 6 year birthday to clean up those pipes which I need to do before sending them off to be coated.

Guys, please tell me I'm not the only one with a garage full of new performance parts, car or bike, that's waiting to get installed.

Installation is almost as much a pain in the ass as a valve check.

I can't see how a full system is much lighter than stock with a slip on. My APH Is very light, and I've just had the stock headers ceramic coated along with the APH link pipe.

I find the stock headers very light anyway ? Save yourself a load of money and just coat the stock headers.

It's not always about the weight. Pipe size (in this application) has a lot to do with it. It's more about making power. Stock headers are roughly 1.75" OD. I think (could be wrong though) the FMF header is 2" OD. It also depends on what gauge material is used. I prefer to use 16 gauge myself, which adds a little bit of weight but it's harder to break it and should hold up better in the event of a crash.

Pipe size would depend on application too I'm guessing ?

Drag racing I can see a bigger OD making more power top end. But for street and track use would it really be an improvement, with a good map to suit maybe.

For cosmetic reason I'm all for it, but isn't it around 2k :0

It seems to work well on the low end of the powerband for EBR's 1125 & 1190 race bikes, but it needs to be built right. I may give it a go in January to see what I can build.
