well after 13 years of lusting after S1's (first buell i saw was an RS1200 westwind a friend bought new, second was a brand new 98 s1 molten orange and nuke blue... i fell in love!) well i didnt end up with the molten orange and nuke blue one i had been dreaming of for years... i ended up with a bright red one... DID I MENTION I HATE RED?????!!!!!! on vehicles anyway. and its polished top to bottom. i dont like cleaning, id rather ride, hence the olive drab green 9 of mine... but i just couldnt quit staring at this bike. hell with the fact that its red. i can paint it! it had way to many goodies on it to not take that into account. guess this will just be my fair weather bike... so, meet buell number 7 for the No_Rice house hold

Love, Trackdad lol yes, and my "adopted" dad even rode along with me once i made it to minnesota. and i guilted him into buying me breakfast...! and you know i take care of my stuff! just because i ride the hell out of them doesnt mean they dont get their tlc! it sure would look good in a molten orange hue... and if i was to come across a nuke blue frame... doubt i'll go that far though! already stripped off the stock front turn signals and the bra last night, i can make quick work of taking a bra off... lol

NEVER bring that to TN! why, you wana endo this one too...?! lmao! things a decent runner. got her wound up to 130 over dinner. not sure how correct that is since its chain drive. dont know if its got basically stock gearing or not. seems like it has some long legs. could almost gear it down a bit. it very well could be my new favorite bike in the collection. thats been reserved for my green 9, but it looks like it could be some stiff competition!} |

Welcome to Old School Buell, Tim! ...130 over dinner. not sure how correct that is since its chain drive. dont know if its got basically stock gearing or not. With the mechanical speedo drive (coming off the front wheel), final drive gearing changes don't affect the speedo readout. However, it is known that tuber speedos read a little, shall we say, optimistic. SWEET S1! 1313 |

I've always been in love for that bike. I was negotiating it for my best friend, I asked the owner to please have it brought to a Harley dealer so I could have it checked to make sure all was fine (it's still a 15 years old bike, I live far away from where it was located, I wanted to have a peace of mind the motor wasn't blown or the transmission F'up) before I made my friend pull the trigger, and the owner told me that it was fine, but he was gonna charge me $200 to bring the bike to the dealer (which he stated it was close to his house) because this task was going to waste his precious time... when I heard that, I let it go. I don't like to be ripped off. happy it went to a good home though. enjoy it. |

I'm through endoing other peoples machines. hey Tim, congrats on the new bike, mind taking a couple of pics of the oil cooler? I have one ready to go on, just curious how its run, ive seen it a few different ways. i'll try to get around to taking some. heck i havent hardly gotten any of it yet. been to busy. Jenn snapped a quick pic of me sitting on it in the garage, but thats it. wow... ...what a ride,Tim.+1 on the killer score.By the way, how's the family doin'?Good i hope. And you better invest in stocks in whatever polishing brand company you buy from..and hand out sunglasses....... i know! i will have to figure out what im going to use to keep this thing clean, especially since ive been riding the hell out of it! and it is VERY bright, i had it parked in the driveway when i had to run an errand with the car. as im driving down the street on my way back home, the sun hit the thing just right and it literally blinded me for a second! the family is doing great by the way! lots of big changes in the last month. we just moved and got a new house also(thats a whole other thread thats soon to come) but he was gonna charge me $200 to bring the bike to the dealer that doesnt seem that unfair to me, heck itd cost about that much to have them tear it down and look it over. all it required was cleaning out the fuel system, new plugs, and it fired right up! |
