So here's what I think looks nice. Tips off ebay. Painted them with high heat grill paint. Looks better than stock IMO and protects your rim. Matches rest of the exhaust. Stock the shiney aluminum tips matches your pipe when the bike has 0 miles on it. As soon as you put on a couple miles the rest of the exhaust turns brown/purple... So then it looks odd. Also I put on the Ulysses pegs front & back. 103kb max? this forums kinda a POS. I'v been on pwctoday forums and it makes this site look like a $5 a month joint.

$5 a month? Last time I checked this site was free. Anyway if you can't post a pic thats under 103kb, you seriously need to figure out how to use your photo editing software. |

+1 Froggy BOB_SAGGOT has been here since... October 28, 2009 and he has a whopping 108 post and he wants to bash the most knowledgeable forum in (Buell)motorcycling history.... ~F'in Squid~ Oh btw, your lower tip is misaligned... kind of makes your efforts look like a cheap Chinese knock off. and he couldn't even mod the tip enough to make it snug against the original weld that gap where you can see the original tip looks like ass let alone the fact that it is cocked of so bad you can see it in a pic hate to imagine what it is like in person. Yes, this forum has its flaws, but for something that is free it has a great deal of knowledge from many different points of view. Seeing as it's FREE there is nothing I can complain about it. Jesus christ people I'm just saying with a little programming it could be so much better. Like this forum http://www.pwctoday.com/ This forum just reminds me of the mid 90's. When we were running windows 95. It's like they made the forum back then and forgot about it. You know what I'm saying? No reason to tell me to pack my bags I didn't make this thread "only" to say that. I had to spend 10 min trying to get my pic down to under 103kb. Little worried it was going to be the size of a thumbnail by the time it would fit! And yes I could have got the tips on a little closer. But didn't want to sand or grind anything. Honestly the entire bike has gaps like that all over it. This way it stays with the theme If your worried about the gaps you should not buy a buell. It was hard to get the tips lined up perfect with the back tire still on. I couldn't reach around and tighten the set screw while holding it in place. But in person it's soooo slight being off that unless you were looking for it you woudln't notice it. If you want to talk about Chinese outfits them aftermarket pipes are what you want. It's like putting a rice burner pipe on a corvette. These pics are like 1kb under the max. And used JPEG. Not sure how you could do any better? (Message edited by Bob_Saggot on May 01, 2010) |

Like the pegs, did the silver on mine. As far as the site vs. the pwc one... By my rough calculations, it takes about 4-5 times longer for the page to load than here. Simple=Fast. Blake, please don't EVER CHANGE this format. R |

The forum reminds you of the 90s? Well, it probably should since it has been around since then - which is also the reason that it hasn't been moved to something like vbulletins like the forum you linked to. Moving an existing forum to a newer one takes more than "a little programming". Setting up a new forum like the one you linked to takes all of about 15 minutes and requires no skill. Moving many years worth of posts takes a massive effort. So, we live with it. Believe me, the information available here is well worth it. And I think you are confused about the pic issue. I believe there is a minimum of 105kb not a max. |

Like this, still within the Badweb upload limits.
Funny you mention the 90's comment, because this forum was started in 1998, so yes it is running 1998 software, and no, its not simple programming to bring it to 2010. No, they didn't forget to update it, it is running the latest version of the software. Is it perfect? No, but it is a very good forum program, and we are making due with what we got available. Bob_Saggot, The point is you came on the board showed some mods, bitched about file size restrictions for images and then bashed the forum. You never once asked about "HOW TO" do something.... You run your mouth here like a squid you will get slammed around like a squid. You want to know how to post images the size it is below, just ask. The Oracle (badweb) will answer. I have a simple saying that is perfect for chronic complainers and folks that are never happy...LMB, which stands for LICK MY BALLS. Although somewhat harsh, it kinda grows on you because it just rolls off the tongue. Thank you BADWEATHERBIKERS for the superb information contained here! #1 |

APEN - Accentuate the Positive Eliminate the Negative. you can say APEN in a room full of people and anyone in your crew knows to chill out without embarrassment. Worst thing is when it happens to me, I usually shut up and smile at that point in time. :-) Someone who does things with complete disregard for others is a WTO Gold medalist or White Trash Olympics Gold medalist. |

Why is it when I uploaded a pic it said you have exceeded the maximum of 105kb. And would not take untill it was under 105? Both my images are under it. Weird oh well. I'll run my mouth all I want. It's the internet. When you trash talk me it does nothing. I don't care lol. Just show's me who the mature folks are here. Only thing that keeps me coming back is I know there is some nice guys here. The non flamers. Like Ratsmc. I'm just stating a fact, this site could use a little upgrading. A lot of the good info is lost or really hard to find with the search function as it is. That part of the reason the same question gets asked over and over. Hard to navigate. And Duphuckincati, are you referring to the Waveblaster 2? It's a pretty good machine compared to the modern day boats. Modern day pwc's are around 800lbs. That ones under 500 so it's not bad. It's the old mans. I ride yamaha superjet mostly. If you even try to bash that you automatically fail. Because it does take skill unlike all the other modern day tankers everyone sells. And if you like riding rockets/buells. You would like these. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LQ2LAnC-68&playnex t_from=TL&videos=eWL2ZZ0gmBw (Message edited by Bob_Saggot on May 01, 2010) |

Because that is what the limit is set to. The pic I posted is only 101kb. |

The pic I posted is 2.2 mb. I could keep it the same size and compress it to 67k and it would look the same. To Froggy's point brush up on your image/web skills or simply ask if someone had a better solution. To your other points, yes we flamed you because you started with a tude, as for the search function, just use the googlebadweb link at the top of this forum and the other Oracle will give you what you seek. |

Bob_saggot, btw, love the bob saggot teretts dude on YouTube. To answer your question, I use a free image hosting site (imageshack.com) and just paste the forum code into the thread. There are also various free photo editors (gimp) to name just one, that can resize your photo for web use. Say 1024x768 with 72dpi = under 100k. |

Alright good info, I'll bookmark them sites and remember to use that search function instead. Tourrets guy is my hero too lol. I was just mad with the first post because got done typing everything. Then had to shrink the pictures down to a ridiculous size. The camera's so old it's a brick, takes a pair of batteries to take 15 pictures. And still had to shrink them down I was like wtf lol |

You do realize how much bandwidth this site uses, don't you? http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=300&post=505181#POST505181 The data in the first post was from 2005, so it's a bit off, but even from back then, it was a HUGE amount being sent/recieved. A little later in the thread. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=300&post=1624428#POST1624428 Total Hits 19,128,515 That's just one month. Now think about the amount of bandwidth in use on a daily basis. Before you complain about the 105 kb size limit, do YOU want to pay the bill for the bandwidth? I'm paying a small part of it myself. |

Think of learning this Forum's quirks as Arcane Lore. I bet only a handful of the members here know more than a few tricks... I only have the slightest clue on how to post on this style of BB. I am a child of the VB era...(at 49 lol). A sparkley rainbow place where bracket b bracket bracket forward slash b bracket makes you bold and any http between bracket img bracket bracket forward slash img bracket makes the pretty pictures come through the tubes I call my internet. This site even re writes [ b ] lol} I'll try not to hate on the exhaust tips...even though it's one of my hobbies, picking on BlackFlash and making fun of his eBay tips...but they don't look right to me. One opening has a slightly different profile than the other opening. And there is that ZOMGBBQWTF gap you left...for shame. I'm in the process of stripping and repainting my stock can and I want to alter the tips...but in a manly and heroic manner...not girlishly...like I was riding bitch on a waverunner. This place is a trip...a trip back in time. (Message edited by MountainStorm on May 02, 2010) |
