I have a 08 1125 and I am wanting to put a slip on exhaust without a tune for now. Which pipe would be the best "bang for the buck"? | ||

A used one, whichever one you can find. Thats what I do, just be patient one will pop up. | ||

I have the Jardine Rt5 carbon fiber but i hear that they sound pretty similar. i love the sound. Tim | ||

It all depends on your definition of "bang" and how it applies to this. Do you want to spend as little as possible for noise or is it as little as possible for performance? Is it both? What sound are you looking for exactly? In your face loud or just a deep rumble and tolerable noise when cruising? Listen to a lot of videos on youtube, then hit the dyno section here. Well I don't want ear bleeding loud but just a deep rumble. I may add a tuner later on but for now it will just be the slip on. | ||

Don't ask me, I've got like 5 exhausts on my short list and I can't seem to rule out any. Fun problem to have I guess.  Barkers or Adams seem to have some of the most reasonable volume levels out there. Even the Jardine and FMF don't seem too loud for me as long as Im not revving the snot out of it in city riding. I intend to ride mine for the next two weeks and dyno it again with the RT Type 1 to verify something that I suspect. I think my ecm was just slow to learn and I've been getting more power than I initially posted. At least I have a couple that I can play around with if I choose to.  I guess I can make something different also. | ||

I have had a Jardine no tune.and now my HMF (with a custom tune) The jardine i could tell i lost a little in the lower rpms overall felt the same for the most part and sounded decent as far as the HMF i like the sound a little better (still not a big fan of it either but i tolerate it) But with the tune the bike feels so much better and can ride it in the lower rpm's no problem and it screams! I can see myself buying a diffrent exhaust in the month or so...something that sounds smoother and deep...who knows? But i would suggest a good tune with any of the exhausts. | ||

With the Barkers you are able to change the "Quiet cores" to suit your sound level. There is no need to purchase multiple pipes trying to find the desired sound. The quiet cores are $20 each and only take a few minutes to change. |
