i pulled the stock ones out and installed the new ones. but the one problem i found is on the throttle side the bar end when tightened snug makes the throttle stick. once i pulled the end away from the throttle just a hair so it was not right on the throttle it was fine. but i am worried it will work its way back in and pinch the throttle again. is there a little spacer or something i could put between the two? thanks |

Use washers with a longer bolt. Visit your local Sears hardware department. I added about 1/2" of washers and then was able to hang it out a little farther so to not interfere with the throttle, but stay where I wanted it. Make sure to put the rubber more to the end with the nut inside, ie; stack a few washers on each side, but more to the outside, I think I only used one washer on the nut side, the rest were for spacing it out. |

Try this, when installing the throttle side, stick some thick coins (quarters) between the grip and the bar end. This should help you maintain a small gap when installing so when you remove the coins there should be no binding. |

If you have traction grips you don't have this issue (they don't like bar ends) |

Yea but if you had traction grips you wouldn't be riding much due to the odd shape and pressure they create on your wrists, plus they don't seem to heat up when I flip the switch |

Hey Rockstar, why don't the Traction grips like bar ends? I have a pair I was going to put on my CR but am waiting for the funds to get some weighted bar ends (Rizoma) and slap some Rizoma Reverse Retro eBay knockoff mirrors on them. What exactly about them makes modding them to allow the bar end shank to pass through a pain in the butt or impossible? Thanks (Message edited by jeepinbueller on March 10, 2010) |

Well you have a pair so you see how its plugged on the end but has the ring to cut it out but how there not flat they have that concave to the ends so when you butt the bar ends to them it looks goofy. Along with the throttle side being a bigger pain then a reg grip and having to gap it so you don't have the binding issue.. And froggy, you really don't like them? I think there great compared to stock. And I don't have heated grips so I wouldn't know about the other issue. As for the wrists hurting that never has been an issue cept for real long rides (3plus hrs) |

The Traction grips work just fine with bar-ends. You just need to spend a moment with an x-acto knife to trim the end. |
