Source? One thing that Ferrari and other exotics don't want you to know is that an American car with a big V8, pushrods, and leaf springs can hang just fine with their best. |

Must be that Porsche designed the suspension for the Cadillac cts-v also. I'd take the Caddy over the Vet or the Porsche. |

I think you forgot to add "right up to the first corner".... Trust me I'm not having a go, I'd rather have the big V8 American muscle car anyday... Oh wait a minute, I did have a Z28 IROC and now have a Jaguar XJR (another gift from my good lady).. The Z28 was awesome, the Jag is just.........faster, smoother, more comfortable, better handling... but somehow not "better" IYKWIM |

The Z06 is like no other American car. It will hang with the best of them, even in the corners. |

>>>One thing that Ferrari and other exotics don't want you to know is that an American car with a big V8, pushrods, and leaf springs can hang just fine with their best. Trust me . . . the guys with the Ferrari's could care less. One of the guys here has a Ferrari (he's owned Vettes in the past) and my neighbor has two. They are well aware of the Corvettes strengths and weaknesses . . . but as he'll quickly tell you . . . "it's still a Chevy". |

+1. When you're buying high end cars, the performance starts taking a back seat to fit, finish, style, and the name. |

I can't find anything online to support that statement either.

Umm, no I didn't. Take a look at the Nurburgring lap times and you will see the Corvette ZR1 is right behind the Ferrari Enzo, and both of them were beat by a Viper. The Top Gear leader board shows the Corvette right up there with them all too.

Every car has its strengths and weaknesses, and being that most Ferrari's cost twice as much as the top Vette, you will have a different set of trade offs. |

IDK how I got off easy... They didn't arrest me and only took my bike till I could get it in the AM... Talked to an attorney that said he has never lost a speeding ticket case, said he could get it down to at least 99mph so I can take traffic school. Overall Cost = $1000 ouch! Guess I'm not getting a new pipe. Gonna have to patch it. Could have bought 1/8 of those PCCB brake pads! Or maybe if I push real hard they will fall into the toilet bowl lol. "why didnt you stop son?" "officer, I've got this huge hole in my pipe, had earplugs in and was going a Buck-O-five trying to make it to SpinTech on my lunch break!" My boss ended up picking me up. he was just laughing... Wa Waa Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... |

Sucks you got nicked by the po po. Threadjack on: The CTS-V was tuned in Germany on the 'ring by Sachs and GM, not Porsche. The new one is the fastest sedan around Nürburgring. http://get1car.com/cadillac/2005-cadillac-cts-v-eu ro_913/ Makes a great DD and track car/AXer

My boss got a chance to drive the new CTS-V at the GM proving grounds last year. They got the choice to run it on the acceleration course or the handling track, fools picked the straight acceleration course. I might get to go this year! Very awesome car! Just like the 1125. |

I shot some video of the Caddies rounding Road America. The sound of their exhaust is intoxicating. And they seem to be the best handling machines in their class, the other brutes were hanging it out and running off into the dirt and all sorts of crazy stuff and still could not overtake the Caddies. Captain I'm glad you aren't going to the Graybar Hotel. I had to spend 24 hours there for 98 in a 55 here in VA. The Commonwealth calls anything over 15 above "Reckless" and you face 30 days plus a fine. I had to shell out about a Grand on top of it all to my lawyer and the court. Oddly enough the Trooper let me ride off after handing out the ticket. At least you get to take a class and stay in circulation. I had this idea a while back for increasing ground clearance instead of raising the suspension. I'm not advocating the Jardine muffler; I just used the pic to illustrate. Yes, I realize this increases ground clearance at the expense of weight distribution and handling, but so does raising the suspension. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=290431&post=1599922#POST1599922 |

Captain, so how many points was that driving award worth? I would think that would be close to getting your license pulled. I got 2 points for trying to get to a park that was open and the road was under construction. I guess that a "Road Closed To Through Traffic" means your screwed even if your not going all the way through. |
