I've got an April 09 R. #1566. Who has the newest 09 R on this board? Anyone know anything about total production numbers for 09 yet? Jim |

These numbers dont seem to make sense.. I got an 09r with the last numbers being 909. Thing is, its still at the factory. I'm waiting on it to be shipped to Bumpas. So if these numbers go in order, and in January they where 1xxx, that makes mine built Between Dec 08- Jan. Why would it still be at the factory and the higher number being shipped out first? That would mean my bike has been sitting in a box at Buell for almost a year??? |

Americanmadexb The current demand for these is nuts. It is probably complete chaos and under-staffing. Your bike was probably buried in the back of the warehouse. I Ordered my bike 10/19 and picked it up 11/10. I live 8 miles from the factory. The dealer I bought from is 30 miles from the factory. That's 22 days. I hope you don't have to wait too long. Jim |

Court I've herd that several times that the VIN #'s don't come in numerical sequence. So what sequence do they flow in there must be a rime or reason to the madness. Please explain. |

46champ, that is easy, the VIN is really just the US national debt at time of manufacture. As long as there is a democratic president, Buell doesn't have to worry about the numbers going down much and having numbers repeating |

Froggy, if that's the case, Buell would have needed to ask for additional VIN numbers beyond the standard 17 digits to account for the 2001-2008 years The last time the annual deficit decreased would have been when they were first putting together my '00 X1 at the tail-end of that President from Arkansas. Wait, mentioning Clinton and 'tail-end' in the same sentence is always bad form ... My bad! Mike (Message edited by milleniumx1 on November 12, 2009) |

I figured it was. I've been more interested in riding it than looking at it since I got it. |

That's because folks on the internet ASSUME . . . that bikes are buitl 1. . . 2. . . 3. . . . .4 . . .. 5. Foolish assumption. ok, why is that? Every assembly line i have ever work, including the one i'm at now, the numbers went in order. Yeah there where a few strays in there but for the most part they where in order. |

I am betting they are numbered in the order they start building, which MAY be way different than when they are finished and palletized. |
