http://www.americancivicliteracy.org/resources/qui z.aspx I hope the link works. According to Yahoo News, the average elected official got a 44% on this quiz. The average citizen got a 49%. I am betting Badweb will do way better. I got an 88% (rounded). I thought I would do better. Time to break out the civics books! See how you do. Bill |

You answered 18 out of 33 correctly 54.55 % Yeah I know it's not brilliant but considering I'm a Brit living in France I don't reckon it's too bad. |

The message here is pretty darn clear. The average badwebber, (if we exclude mr. grumpy for the reasons he himself suggests), scores twice as high as the average elected official. Conclusion: Don't vote for anyone who doesn't ride a Buell!! Am I right, my brothers? Or what?

83 Although I disagree with two of my wrong answers. One of the reasons the Articles of Confederation were banished was because they included no method to collect taxes. I was under the impression that the Constitution's ability to tax was one of it's main "benefits". Also I say that everyone who pays taxes has payed for flood control levees so how could they not directly pay for it and still use it? |

This is from the site: "Are you more knowledgeable than the average citizen? The average score for all 2,508 Americans taking the following test was 49%; college educators scored 55%. Can you do better? Questions were drawn from past ISI surveys, as well as other nationally recognized exams." The current average on the webpage is probably so high (77.5%)because you can take it as often as you want. I got a 100% on my second try when I was trying to impress my girlfriend with how smart I am! (Then I showed her my real score.) I'm totally impressed by the Badweb scores so far. I'm not sure what that exactly says about people who own Buells, but I know it's good. Bill |

two vodkas in me, and apparently I should run for office 27 of 33 25) Free enterprise or capitalism exists insofar as: A. experts managing the nations commerce are appointed by elected officials B. individual citizens create, exchange, and control goods and resources C. charity, philanthropy, and volunteering decrease D. demand and supply are decided through majority vote E. government implements policies that favor businesses over consumers This question reads like a recipe as to why our current credit system is so messed up. |

>>>>This question reads like a recipe as to why our current credit system is so messed up. So I am not alone in my bewilderment . . . the "bailout" the auto companies are asking for is a fraction of the "pork" (some really stupid projects) that were added to the $700,000,000,000 to bring the actual appropriation up to $850,000,000,000. Congress should be ashamed and I am at a loss . . . where is the outrage, where are the leaders? Any question as to why these de facto "employees for life" in congress did so poorly on the test? |
