Well I just found out about the wheel bearing issue on the 2003 Firebolt xb9R!!! Now BIKER BOBS in Troy MI said they will pay for the wheel bearing but not the Wheel, Axle, Belt, Swing Arm, Belt Guards, many ex. or any of the LABOR!!! Does anyone have any info on the bulletin that was posted to switch from the black to orange??? and does anyone have any ideas? They won't even give me a good trade in $... I think this might have been the straw that broke the camels back... If this doesn't work out I will be buying a Victory for sure!!! |

Call up Buell Customer Service they should be able to take care of the issue for you, make sure to explain the situation. 414-343-8400 have your VIN number handy and try not to be short with them, remember it is Billy Bob who is trying to screw you not them... |

the bulliten is in the knowledge vault section of the BadWeb. IIRC, they should not charge you for any of that. I had mine done for free, way back in the day. |

If the bearings were the black seal and not the orange seal, you need to call Customer Service again and talk to a different person. If they were the orange seal ones, well, I'm afraid you are S.O.L. |

If I remember right it wasn't a recall, just an upgrade, I had to pay for the bearings, but the labor was free. |

>>>>If I remember right it wasn't a recall, just an upgrade. That is an accurate statement. You really need to speak to Buell Customer Service. There are several questions including how you just now came to be doing this when the program was announced better (someone tune me in here, I'm working from poor memory) than 3 years ago. Something sounds amiss. Buells responsibility will be limited to what they are reasonably responsible for. If the owner was notified and just decided not to do it, it's your nickel. The "good news" is that Buell has an incredibly well documented record of fair dealing (and ignoring warranty dates) and accepting responsibility. The key thing is to collect and have the facts, dates and details and handle the call in a very professional manner. Rusty, Roger and Company are enthusiastic riders and true pros. Court |

...oh, and look me up sometime and we'll go for a ride. My XB9R could use some company. |

Just to let everyone know. Buell refused to help me out in any way. So no longer will I ever buy a Buell or Harley... Biker Bobs in Troy, MI DID NOTHING!!! They now have my bike for over 3 months now and nothing has happened. They didn't even try to help me out!!! Its a bummer how they just blow off the younger generation of riders!!! I bet if I was a 40yr old, they would have fixed it without an issue!!! I have already Purchased my Victory, which is an AWESOME Bike By the way!!! I will forever stay an American rider but never again will I purchase a Buell or Harley!!! And for my Old XB9r I am thinking about just breaking it apart and creating one of those Mutant Choppers just so there is one less Buell on the Road!!! anyways Still pretty upset about the whole thing. See you guys around!!! <img>http://www.rubbermag.com/news/0608/imgs/060803_vic tory.jpg |

You just found out about the wheel bearing issue and the dealer has agreed to replace them free of charge. What does the wheel, axle, belt, swing Arm, belt guards, many ex. have to do with the wheel bearings?? In your dealings witht he dealer, were you calm and polite or rude and froathing at the mouth?? Attitude is everything... You can be angry and still be personable. As for Buell not helping, that is simply not the case... In 2006 Buell and BadWeb helped me locate an obsolete heat shield for my 98S1W Tuber. Perhaps you should try a different dealer. My Buell friendly dealer replaced the rear isolators on my 98 Tuber under warranty in 2005! And this was before I became a regular customer! Attitude is everything! |

Sounds like the lack of an explanation might be due to a guilty conscience. Road it to long maybe? |
