Reset or replace TPS.

Thnx, gonna replace tps sensor and see if that helps? What about the airflow sensor? Bike did run strong b4 intake seals were replaced! Did do a intake leak test and no leaks!! Maybe can sensor also? Thinking of deleting the fuel injection for a carb? Any thoughts? How would I flash and reprogram the ecm?

These bikes do not have airflow sensors. They use a speed density system. The sensor you might think is a MAF is actually a temperature sensor. From the air temp, RPM, and throttle angle (and probably some other data) the ECM calculates how much air is entering the engine, thus how much fuel to add. On engines with very small air boxes and really big jugs, the air does not flow smoothly enough for a MAF to give the ECM any meaningful information about how much air is flowing across the heated wire. Too much variation.

You will need to do a TPS reset after installing the new TPS. The ECM has to know the voltage output at zero throttle. But the bike should start and stay running with the TPS plugged in, even if the voltage offset isn't yet programmed into the ECM.

"Bike ran strong before intake seals were replaced . . . '

Were it me, I would stop here and carefully go over everything that was done during the seal replacement. While possible, it is not very likely that something would fail that badly all on its own.

Is the front injector plug connected to the front injector? All connectors securely reset? As Al at American Sport Bike says, when you have issues after doing something, recheck the work you just did.

As to the TPS, check with a ohm meter for a quick and dirty. Resistance should change in a linear manner as the throttle is opened and closed. Could save some money.

TPS reset and flashing the ECU use ECMspy.

Hope this helps, Dave

Checked work done, all good, no leaks, connected proper, idles with TPC unplugged dies when plugged in?? Now I need to find software for scanner?? Can't do much more!!!

All of it drove me nuts when I got my X1, also. But, once I sorted the small mess made by previous owner, the FI has been very reliable.

The Spy and ECU interface only work after you put up the kickstand on my bike when in neutral. The engine check lite should cycle on and fuel pump should run when power is on the ECU.

Hint:

Check the plugs

Tubers don't like to be started and then stopped with out a full warm up

Is the CEL on? If so, what are the codes? Is the side stand switch bypassed? Have you looked at the CPS for signs of heat damage? Is the CPS harness near the engine pully in good shape?

Plan 1 - Get with American Sport Bike and get a harness for ECMSpy. There are links there to download the program and the drivers needed. And if you don't have one, get a service manual while you are there. Absolutely the best tool in the box.

Plan 2 - Check with the B.R.A.N. section to see if someone lives nearby who can help.

Plan 3 - Do both. Seems a careful check of things, one system at a time, is in order. Can't really know where to look or what to fix until you know what is working correctly. And I'll be glad to help you, although getting you and your bike here is not exactly a day trip . . . .

this might be a sided note but if it started running badly before changing the seals this might be something else, and the TPS is a symptom to another problem.
My first thought was a fuel system issue.
I would check the pump psi, screen, filter, idle set screw position, and quality of fuel.
This doesn't explain why the engine dies when the tps is plugged in. Trying to come at this from a different angle.

If you connect to ECMSpy, with the TPS plugged in and the ignition on, what is the TPS value (deg/%/V) on the Overview page?

So you are talking about throttle position sensor on side of throttle body or the engine temp sensor in rear head??
