I read a post on another forum where the person stated that they had heard that some Buell Blasts came from the factory with some missing oil passages in the heads. I did not find any reference to this, nor have I ever heard it. I called BirdPoop on his statement but promised a bit of research on the subject. As usual no references or details were given for the rumor.

Anybody ever hear this one?

Essentually arn't they the same heads used in some of the V twins? and wouldn't they have the same problem as they are made the same place?

The Blast head is like the Lightning heads - except that the casting is different to handle the difference in how it attaches to the tie bar behind the front / only head.

Either way, this is also the first I'd heard of this. It'd be nice to get a trace on the origin of this before it is spread further.

I do not believe for a second that a bike with missing oill passages would leave the Buell factory. If you have taken a factory tour, you would agree with me.

They all have missing oil passages... If we're talking about the oil breather passages that are in the Sportsters.

I'd never heard it either, that's why I asked youz guys.

I don't think it has spread at all, since no amount of internet searching could turn it up. I think it was just one person passing along a silly statement they had heard awhile ago. Even if i asked this guy directly I don't think he'll be able to tell me where he heard it.

I wouldn't worry about it.
