I really want to put an updated shifter on my 2000 X! and am having the hardest time finding one...I did find one that said it was for the M2/S3. Would tat work on my X1?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately not. You will need the X1 style for an X1. The (foot) shifter itself is longer and straight. The M2/S3 version has a shorter shifter and is not straight like the X1 version.

Thanks for the info guys. I have' seen any on twin motorcycles site unfortunately. It looks like its getting harder and harder to find parts for these bikes lately...

I may have to eventually shell out $300 for a banke lever...

Somebody might know if the Banke Sportster rear-set mounts will work on the X1. They are super knowledgeable and helpful but if they have to custom-fabricate, you know it won't be cheap but they still have SOME in stock.

ill be making a run of billet shifters shortly that resemble the OEM shifter if you want to wait a little. Will have Brass bushing and stainless sleeve. Should be in the $150 range.

I thought X1 and S1 were same length from front pivot point to toe peg, it was the M2 and S3 and S2 that were shorter length from front pivot to toe peg due to change in foot peg location?? As the foot peg was brought forward it crowded the front pivot (fixed position) and therefore the lever arm had to be shorter......S3/M2/S2 foot peg location was slightly lower and more forward than X1/S1 bikes?

Potentially interested in an X1 shifter, purpony. Also curious if it will have toe-peg and related hardware?

I would like a shift leaver, with splined hole to mount to shift sharft like a stock mid shift sporty, but that goes back over the derby cover, reverse ( one up four down shift ) i have seen them on sportster race bikes but not sure who makes them? i have updated M2 shift in reverse GP style shift, but i feel eliminating all that linkage would improve shift feel. less flex & play.

Bartels Racing (Bartel's HD) used to offer a reverse lever and so did Storz Performance. I don't believe either is still available but you might to be able to find a use done. Had them both but preferred the Storz.
