Anybody got one of these, or even just the L-brackets, sitting on a shelf in there garage?
I really need it for both 2 up and touring.

IF I have to buy new, who should I buy from? The sponsor I found with them is on the other side of the ocean from me.

Is there another option I should be looking at?

Doesn't Al have those things? Or have I been dreaming again? There was one on ebay recently, but it's probably gone. Wouldn't hurt to check though.

Al at American Sport Bike - great to deal with and the Ventura rack is great on the Cyclone.
Carlos has the 45 liter bag and the 10 liter bag as well. Be sure to get the grab bar for a clean look when the racks and bags are not on the bike. You can also get a rain cover for the Ventura bag. Well worth the money.

Very good system. I've been using one since 1999 and really like it.

Get it from American Sport Bike, one of our sponsors.

These Ventura setups are so cool.

It turns out, I do run the Grab Rail 90% of the time, and just slap on the rack as needed. It's real quick to switch between them, just a few seconds.

It does change the look of the M2 (a bit worse) but some passengers feel so much safer for some reason with that little rail back there.

I only bought the L-mounts, rack, and grab rail, I didn't get any of the bags.

Good "investment" or expenditure, whatever you want to call it.

The passenger seat on my Corbin is slanted ever so slightly back, so my girlfriend slides off the back of her seat often. One of these times the 3 inches of fender isn't going to catch her and she's going to bite it hard. Because of this thought going through my head whenever she's on the back, I have to adjust my riding style substantially, and I don't have nearly as much fun. I think this grab bar would solve both those problems.

I didn't realize American Sport Bike carried them! Thanks!

Speaking from someone who has ridden the back of the M2 with the stock seat versus Corbin with and without the Ventura rack. I know the feeling of feeling like you're coming off the back of the M2. The Corbin seat helped that feeling, but the Ventura rack allows me to ride at a more comfortable position. I can sit more upright versus feeling hunched over holding onto Carlos. I know that the Ventura rack is not truly a backrest, but it is comforting knowing that there is something behind me.

After being away from the M2 since the Uly came home, it was nice riding it again last month through the Blue Ridge Parkway with Ferris & Denise.

Mike, I have a m2 ventua setup that I was going to modify for my x1, but have decided to get the right one. The grab handle is cheap, I think $22. PM me if still interested.

personally mike, me and my wife really didn't like the corbin, even after having it modified. if you can find the upgraded buell seat that they used to offer you might be a little happier. on the other hand my buddy likes the corbin so i'm letting him use it.

I think I like the corbin. (Haven't tried anything else)
The girlfirend doesn't mine the seat, her only complaint is the sliding off the back.

that was a big issue with the corbin that she didn't like about it. if you get the opportunity, you need to try something else and if i ever get up there to see my mom again on the cyclone i'll give you a shout or if you ever make it back down to deals gap or surrounding area let me know and you can try the one i got if you want. i know i couldn't see my self doing another 600 mile run on the corbin.

Mike - the Ventura rack will help with the feeling of sliding off the back of the bike. This picture was taken Memorial Day weekend. We rode 175 miles with Ferris & Denise on the Parkway. There is no way I would have done that without the rack behind me.

I have the Ventura rack for my M2 .. never had it mounted (had it for a year now) ... don't really want to bugger up the looks of the bike - it is not the type of thing you want to take on and off all the time either IMO ...

For 2-up riding though, maybe instead of the Corbin you have, upgrade to a Gunfighter and Lady and add the backrest (the back seat portion holds your passenger nicely even without the backrest) .. the backrest is easy enough to take off and put back on when riding 2-up, my wife doesn't even really need to hold on to anything or me this way either ... and the seat, I think, looks just as good if not better than the regular gunfighter Corbin.. It will also still allow for the use of the Ventura rack if you wanted to just add it for trips ...

This shows the whole rack, and then the Corbin w/backrest... (the shorter grab bar and no bags obviously)

I think the rack will be my first step. I will be keeping my eye open on ebay for the Lady seat, as it does look more appropriate for the passenger.

I have and love both the gun fighter and lady corbin and the pack rack system. The corbin back rest fits with the tall rack or the short rack, and the wife rode from California to Sturgis and back home to California on the corbin. She loves the set up, now to keep her awake on the boring straights.

Still waiting on the rest of the hardware to come, and the racks for the back... but so far just looking at the brackets, I can tell that I'm going to need to relocate my signals again. After the fender-ectomy I moved them up, now I'm going to need to move them an inch forward.

Arg.

I finally mounted mine .. bad part for me is I cannot get the corbin backrest on with it on ... not enough room to squeeze it in there ...

Thought I'd show you a couple pics ... You may not need to move your lights - I chopped my tail section and moved the lights .. it still fits ..

We have two camping trips this month and I always take my bike .. taking the S1 on the shorter trip this weekend, and taking the M2 on the longer trip at the end of the month ...

The Ventura Rack will either hold the cooler, or maybe the tent rolled up and strapped to it ..

The only thing is .... it doesn't really complement the bike .. so I will be going through the pain of taking it off and putting it back on when I'm going somewhere that requires more than a backpack or the Buell luggage set... other than those times, it will sit on the shelf like it did since I bought it last year ..
