Its fun now, though - I get to look at one of my drummers, who she's currently married to, and think to myself (and occasionally say out loud) "dude, she's YOUR problem now!" Thing is...they're ALL batshit-crazy. Just have to find one whose crazy matches yours - because we're not exactly saints, either. And, you have to find your own personal balance for the "fun to play with" versus "gonna keep this one" ratio. The wild card being, of course, HER thinking "yea...I'll keep this one". Now, as to the LGTBQ question...I was a Fine Arts major and have worked in the entertainment industry in one way or another, since the late 80s. Had a lesbian manager for a while who'd go pick up women with me at the bar - ONE of us would stand a chance! - and it was only mildly disturbing that we had the same taste in women. I've met flamboyant gays; I've met surprisingly conservative ones (socially AND politically). The stereotype tends to be the flamboyance. And, truthfully, the only ones I've had issues with are the militant ones - the "I'm gay and straight people suck so you need to respect gays or become one yourself" types. Like anything - militants screw everything up (see: identity politics). It'll be fun to see how long it takes to debunk the Chicago thing, and also fun to see what the press coverage will be like once it is (as if I didn't already know THAT answer)... | ||

HATE HOAX: Jussie Smollett Refuses to Turn Over Phone to Investigators – Was Filmed in Lobby After ‘Attack” Appearing Normal So the police have scoured hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and can trace the victim's route, but have no footage of the guys wearing red hats? Now his manager is claiming to have "heard" the attack, being on the phone with him at the time. Of course he won't give the phone to the police to verify this call actually happened. I would say this story is coming undone. It's hard to imagine not seeing the bad guys on CCTV. Would this guy really fake something like this to disparage Trump supporters?  | ||

While I don't drink coffee, so many never darken the door of a FourBucks coffee shop, and I don't care for his involvement in political activism, I do have great respect for his accomplishments as a business person. It's hilarious to see Occasional-Cortex saying he should start with city council first. She's certainly skipped a few steps on her way "up the ladder", already talking about running for President. I think she's too stupid to have a clue what she doesn't know. If Schultz really grew up in the projects, then he has a very unusual story in that he saw the way out. Very difficult to do when someone is paying you to be poor. The guy should be a hero for the left. Instead he's more of a pariah. | ||

I don't do Starbucks for 2 simple reasons. I like coffee. Theirs is over baked and crummy. McDonalds now has much better coffee. I am annoyed by fake elitism. Venti? It's not even good Italian. I could buy the idea of bringing fine Italian coffee culture to the U.S. I doubt enough people would buy the real thing, since Americans really like a mild roast middle of the road coffee, no matter what they tell you. Starbucks management knows this, so it's fake atmosphere by calling things fancy names, burnt cheap coffee, and lots and lots of milk. If you love their coffee, fine. Some people love the Turkish oily brew in tiny cups... like snorting meth.  | ||

So it occurred to me this morning. They're saying "we'll tax the tippy-top of the rich, to pay for it" when it comes to the universal healthcare debacle. 2 problems: First, they could take ALL 100% of the top 1% earners' incomes, and it still won't pay for free medical for a month. Second - when the government takes over the medical industry, we're going to LOSE most of our "rich people". Around here at least, the vast majority of "rich" folks are in the medical field. Now, I know these aren't the "tippy-top" earners they refer to in their "up the taxes" speeches, but still, these are wealthy workers and a big tax base - and when the government screws up healthcare, they're going to basically eliminate this whole earning class or at the very least, they'll decimate it. | ||
