I called them and can't get a strait answer. I only wanted to see if the seating area was made of leather. I wanted to order a seat online but in the description it says its seating area is leather but when I went to order one it said the seating area is vinyl. When I called them three times the women just transferred me and I get some message machine. I left a message and sent a e-mail but still nothing. I called American sport bike and the lady there (very nice by the way) said that they had to stop selling Corbin because of how difficult they are to deal with. How does a company like this stay in businesses? or is this just a isolated incidence? Also is the seating area leather? | ||

I thought when you order a corbin you can list what materials you want the seat to be made of. And the base model, if its what you chose, would be vinyl. | ||

Corbin prides themselves on having the most obnoxious customer service in the industry. They are even worse after you order from them, or so I am told. Honestly, I do not know how they stay in business. You didn't mention what kind of seat you wanted, but there are plenty of good seats available for Buell on the Buell web site, and there are millions of different ones available for Harley's from Lepera and lots of others. What are you looking for? | ||

I'm just looking for a firebolt seat. If they're like this when I'm trying to give them money I can't even imagine how they would be if I had a problem with the seat. Jeffro: you could go on the Corbin web site and see that their is no choice for the leather seating area when you order, just vinyl. | ||

I've had 0 problems with my Buell Custom seat for my Bolt. 25K+ miles later and I'm still happy with my purchase.   | ||

Corbin makes a great seat. Corbins customer service after the sale is the worst I have ever seen. It more than sucks. | ||

As Jim, (Damnut), says, the Buell Custom seat is excellent. Probably the first of fifty mods I have done to my bike, and one of the best. The stock seat is torture by comparison. It also gives you about an inch more leg room, (and seat height). Available from many of our sponsors, should be in stock at several of them. | ||

Question: as a leather hobbyist... why would a seat need so much after sales customer service? That makes me sit back and say whoa. There's not that much that can go wrong. After you've made a couple, and they've been used, you should have discovered all your potential problems and fixed them. Anything after that would be a fluke and you just straighten that out. There shouldn't be that many people going for after sales service on a product that's been on that market for a while. BTW, the select seat works just fine for me. | ||

Seats wear out. Stitching loosens up, leather dries up and cracks... not everyone throws out their saddle and buys a new one. Maybe they like their existing saddle and just want it recovered. | ||

On corbin.com, when you go to order, it gives you drop down menus, it is there where you select which material you want the seat panel, the side panels, tail section and welts to be. Leather is a choice for each one. So yes the seating area is leather. | ||

My bad, thought you were looking for one for your blast. Don't see why they couldn't when every other buell seat can be made out of leather. | ||

The corbin I have on my Firebolt has a leather seating area and vinyl sides. I got it from American Sport Bike back when he was still selling them. | ||

The seating area is leather, but you have an option on the side panels. Mine is all leather. It was ordered by phone, service seemed to be average. I received the seat in about half the time they said it would take, which was a nice surprise. I guess I just got lucky. | ||

C Service is actually quite good. Tough at first, but they came through in the end for me. XB9R seat bought from American Sport Bike. Perfect. V11 Guzzi seat mold had warped. I advised them that it did not fit. THey found a CA V11 -- re-did the mold -- and sent me another free of charge... IMHO, Sugar beats Vinegar all day long... | ||

I've got the leather top vinyl side model on my bolt. Al at American Sport Bike suggested the vinyl over the leather for the sides and I guess he was right 'cause I have no complaints. | ||

The Corbin in california was WAY TOO RUDE to me..called the Florida office, very friendly folks...gave the guy my requirements (for Aprilia Tuono , less than 2 weeks I had it on my bike--about $230.00 delivered IIRC..It was EXACTLY what I had ordered!!! | ||

leather seats Suck big time - after they get wet , (rain, bike wash , etc.) they take forever to dry !!! | ||

Never had a problem with my leather saddle drying out after a rain. When I wash my bike, I take the saddle off (DUH!). And leather helps prevent "Monkey Butt" on a long ride because it BREATHES (unlike vinyl). All you have to do is remember to treat it twice a year with a quality leather balm, and keep it clean. If you're REALLY concerned about rain, then Corbin (and others) sell rain covers, but generally covering the ENTIRE bike when you're not riding it works just as well if not better. | ||

My bike sees all types of weather and I have no problem with the leather. I would like to know how to get the concrete off of it (my saddle) before it wears a hole in my pants though. |
