Any ideas on fairing - mounted mirrors for a Firebolt? The stockers are hideous, and Rizoma is just too much cash. What makes of jap bike have the same mirroe mounting pattern? I know someone else has got to have something that fits... |

I have bar ends now and I don't like them. I really like the simple mirrors that a lot of jap bikes had not that long ago, with the really thin stalks. I have a list of bikes with the 28mm stud spacing from Rizoma's adaprter list, so I'll do a little research and see what looks good. |

I've got a pair that I really like (aesthetically-speaking) that came from Germany...the company that makes them was RRC, and I purchased them through Bike Hospital. IIRC, they weren't that expensive, about $80. I'll see if I can dig up a picture of them...I know I've posted them before, but my profile pic was never updated after I added them. They are roughly analogous to the stock '03 mirrors in terms of visibility, which is to say, not very good - but I'm a skinny little bastard and I've never had a problem seeing around myself with either set. |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=32777&post=300699#POST300699 Found the pic of the mirrors themselves, just not of them mounted on my bike. Looks like I was right about the price, too. Granted, that was several years and a much stronger dollar ago... I just realized that those black ones in the RRC promo pic don't actually match what I got...LOL The ones I have can swivel about the long axis of the base and the mirror itself swivels on the end of the stalk, those appear to only allow the mirror itself to swivel. Yeah Jim - I talked to you about yours breifly at the Liberty Open House thing a few months - don't know if you remember or not... I think I may have found an answer though - the Kawasaki Z750S mirrors bolt right on and are the basic looks I was going for. Going to try and score a set of those. |

Yea I do remember talking to you. It's tough for me to remember screen names with real names sometimes and vice-versa. I didn't associate your screen name with the person I talked to in NJ a few months ago. Must be the whole dead brain cells/short term memory loss thing. |
