I saw this in the new fuell mag, and atleast it seamed to me like they are saying it should fit a stock xb. Anyone know anything about this? If its true I WANT one! I'm sure they are a ton from the dealer, but I'm saving now.

Yes it will bolt on, but I don't think it will work with stock master cylinder. The kit (caliper and cyl.) sell on ebay for like $750-800 from one of the dealerships.

Where will people buy their replacement brake pads from, and how much will they cost?

I would also be interested to hear the factory line on fitting this caliper to road bikes, given that the pads will be a race compound and need a lot of heat in them to work properly.

I ask because, though pretty cool factor is high with the XBRR set up, in the end that's a thousand bux, and the stock set up is pretty amazing (one of the best on the street IMO...

I have the xbrr caliper and mastercylinder on our racebike and it pretty much overkill, but the bike will really stop fast....the only thing that bothers me about it is that its so much heavier than the stock setup, but we had braking issues to start with but not anymore....I wouldn't recommend for the street but they work for the track....

Us 3%ers have been using the RR master cyl with the stock caliper with GREAT results. I like the much improved feedback and less lever effort.

The master cylinder is a 18mm/19mm Nissin unit. You will also need the banjos and such to go with it.

Sorry guys, but the reality is that the lever effort goes up with the RR master cylinder and stock 6 piston caliper. You lose leverage ratio because the XBRR master cylinder has a bigger bore to match up with the increased piston area of the 8 piston caliper. The lever will feel firmer, but that's because you have less leverage.

Try a 16mm Braking/Brembo/ISR radial master cylinder with the stock 6 piston caliper if you want to improve the feel and braking power, although you will still ultimately be limited by having a single 6 piston caliper front brake as opposed to 2 4/6 piston calipers.

Anonymous, either way, it sure is an improvement over the stock offering, it also allows use of the R triple clamp on an S, as the stock master cylinder won't slide all the way up the bar before hitting the fly screen mount.
Besides, the RR master cylinder/lever combination isn't anything not used by Suzuki on the GSXR series. The major difference is cost, the RR is WAY cheaper than the Suzuki part, even though they are the same.

A Nissin 14mm remote reservoir master cylinder, Part # 17-652. will retain the original leverage, and work on modified handle bars. They are imported by Shindy.

Here is an installation on Tomasselli adjustable Clubman's bars.
