My friend with an R1 will be happy to see this post as his bike was down for July and August of this year due to a busted second gear. Cars and bikes are pieces of machinery that break period. Stop your whining. If you want the best car or bike got to one that doesn't have a service department at all, then you know you'll never need to fix it.

That does sound funny, don't it. "Earth station" is short for "Earth station satellite antenna system." : )

This is my first Buell. Bought used almost one year ago with 2000 miles on it, it now has 16,000 miles on it. Been in the shop twice with it. First time was to have the wheel bearings upgraded. Second time was to have the 10k service done. (I didn't have the tools to work on the forks) Both times I dropped it off one day after work and picked it up the next day after work.

The only thing that has ever broken or malfunctioned was #1 the front isolator and #2 the sidestand pivot bolt.

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, but as was stated before it could be your service dep't. I do know that Buell is very focused on customer service, so if you get no satisfaction from your dealership go that route.

Either way (Buell or Other) good luck and keep the shiny side up.

Mark

im sorry for not posting, ive worked 6 doubles in a row and i have been working then sleeping...so get this, the dealership called me and asked me to bring up the factory chip (as mine has the racing chip in it) they said, oh your race chip is bad, do u still have your stock one. i said sure ill bring it up. so i took it up the other day, and i called them 2 day, and they said well the race chip must not be bad, cause the sensor that said no ecm signal is still reciving the error. so basically its been almost 2 months, and they cant figure out what the hell the problem is. court, blake, anyone...honestly my motorcycle hasnt ran right since day 1. i bought it in march 2004. it has just shy of 10k miles on it. can i file a lemon law suit on something like this? honestly i dont even want the bike anymore. i hate it, and the customer service ive received blows. i just want a bike that will run right, is that much to ask?

You keep posting these same sentiments, DJ. Are you trying to convince us or yourself?

On the payment part, would you feel better if you had paid in full up-front? I never did get the whole indignation thing over payments.

Bike not running right, bike in shop, not able to ride bike? I get that whole indignation scenario.

Have you called Buell Customer Service and talked to them about your concerns?

If not, please do. Be prepared to provide just the bare facts including VIN, dealership, contact there, and relevant history. Be professional, and to the point, not emotional and blathering.

Trust me, the LAST thing you want to do is go through a lemon law scenario.

Customer service number can be found atop the "Links" page or the "For the Factory" page.

I feel your pain, bro.

I'm still pissed off about the brand new 1975 Kawasaki F7D 175 I got in 1976. That bike was a real pile that had serious manufacturing flaws. I could never understand why it was so crappy because they had been making the same motorcycle for 5 years and the last year model was so horrible.

I swore never again and I stuck to those guns - I never bought another 1975 Kawasaki F7D 175 ever again and I suggest that you (or anyone else) never do so either.

Boycott the 1975 Kawasaki F7D 175!!!!
