Except for the part where they ran the bike for ten minutes in order to warm up the dynamometer.

Run for 10 min at varying speed, which never allowed the ECM to meet its parameters in order to sample the O2 sensor..OTHER WISE i would have gotten a check engine light and a code for Front o2 sensor error, BUT I DID NOT.

PLUS blake, i re-ran the test on another dyno with the O2 sensors PLUGGED IN and installed and also with the sensors UNPLUGGED and it still ran like crap and loss power..

SO now whats your excuse for blaming my test methods???????

Your comment above is just your way of saying that no matter what, i screwed up and the ECM did not test bad...Blake, i bought off the shelf items, i ran the testing EXACTLY THE SAME for all items tested and it loss power.

Until i can get this 2nd ecm tested, theres nothing more i can say...I'm hoping this one runs fine on the dyno.

Also I may or may not get a chance to dyno the second ecm today. if i do not, then it will be 2 weeks before i can do anything else, since i have to work.

I sure wouldn't agree to that. You seem intent on insult and derision rather than productive rational discussion. I frankly don't have much faith in anything you state given your malicious attitude and desire to pull others into your dim view. It speaks to an agenda other than motorcycle tuning.

Do you not read dyno charts? those do not lie.

I am not trying to turn anyone for or against this ecm or EBR. BUT i ran it, it did not do what was expected, and now i'm informing others. What do i have to gain by bad mouthing EBR? nothing..........so what possible reason would i want this ecm to perform less than expected. i have no agenda, nothing to gain or lose. i just bought something, dynoed it, and it didn't work.

"Why should disabling O2 sensors make any difference in WOT? It's OL anyway and it's WOT"

Except for the part where they ran the bike for ten minutes in order to warm up the dynamometer.

That's why I wrote that locking AFV would be an alternative if you want to keep it stable.

Q: what does it mean, if AFV changes when running the bike in LCL?

A: that AFV was not correct - otherwise it would not have changed. Or that the map does not fit the bike's configuration, when AFV changes while running the bike in different parts of the LCL region. And, as an subsequent effect: AFV would change after re-connectiong O2 after the dyno run also (what should now prevent it from doing so ?), so the dyno printout, especially fuelling at WOT, would not be worth even the paper it was printed on.

I don't think you need to keep justifying yourself.. Some people will never accept that things have moved on since the first set of results.

I was disappointed in the first approach (O2 sensor grounded) but nobody can argue that you redid it as requested and got the same result.

Honestly - just ignore the jibes it's enough that you know you did the right thing w.r.t. the testing and people really need to stop dragging up the "old" stuff that was said in the heat of things.

Hell - I'm a hothead too and if people kept reminding me of things I'd said when annoyed I wouldn't have any friends at all!

Good way to sum it up j4b.Just an average guy buying off the shelf parts and it didnt work.Alot of these people live in cold regions and havent tested theirs ecms yet Who knows??I know the buells in the ama are fast.So i believe it should work.Im hopeful that this is just a another buell quirk and can be fixed.Good luck on your finding.

Another note
Easyrider has always been on stuff like this right off the bat.Two thumbs up easy.He deserves it for hard work.Im amazed at how fast you work easyrider.Good job and good luck with your products.

My experience with disgruntled types who jump to publicly berating a product is pretty conclusive. I've not known any that are trustworthy sources of objective, rational information.

I don't know any that I'd care to sell anything too, ever.

That's hilarious.

First, where did I state that I had "so many negative experiences" as you put it? I've had some and all were conclusive as stated.

Second, ever take a look in the mirror there Danny?

Third, why is it unacceptable in your view for me to criticize the outrageous behavior of others, but okay for you to not only criticize but insult me?

Fourth, if you don't like the way the forum here is run, feel free to escape anytime.

Ad hominem - "argument toward the person"

Count the ways you do it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem#Ad_hominem _abusive

When you do this you are lowering the bar for those of us who would like to learn something.

2nd. What would I be seeing in the mirror old friend?

3rd. Like begets like. you act like a bitch and you get a taste back, Oh thats no fair. Man up.

4th. arrogance breeds contempt. who is the arrogant one with all of the contempt?

Whose cred suffers here, the attacker or defender? Which one are you?

Can't you see I have been trying to battle the negativity around here?

If you want to be respected, give some respect. If you want to be disrespected, give some disrespect. You decide.

J4B,

I agree with Jules. Entertaining the critics is getting going nowhere. From everything I have read, you seem to have made a valid effort.

Easyrider's offer to test the ECM with a stock bike sounds interesting to me. I would love to see the results.

That's a helluva great offer. If I were you J_bang that ECM would already be in the mail.

HWwrenchtx's runs look [EDIT] a little[EDIT]lean to me so not sure about the "completely different" experience...but that's why taking a methodical and objective approach to testing is important.

Danny,

Have the integrity to answer my questions. Be honest. Your latest post is just more negativity, aimed by you at me. If you really imagine that you are "trying to battle the negativity around here", then start with yourself and stop publicly sticking your nose into my efforts to manage the forum as I see fit. As stated before, if you don't like the way the place is managed, then please do abandon it.

If you want to offer constructive thoughts, they are always welcome.

If you just want to be a nag, then take a hike. Keep it up, we'll help with that.

Your choice.

I dont' have time to argue. Life is too short.

Anyone who comes here spouting off maliciously and indignantly for all the world to see stating that their EBR product is "garbage" will meet with stern confrontation. There are individuals in this world who for whatever twisted miserable reason are out to damage and/or vindictively punish Erik Buell or his efforts towards achieving success. I simply won't stand for it. If you want to excuse that kind of behavior, then this isn't the forum for you. Period. I simply won't tolerate it.

Keep the dialogue thoughtful and respectful and all the doors are open here.

I agree Blake. Erik is pretty much back to innovating from his garage. If a person can't handle some issues with product, or wants their email answered in less than an hour,go buy a freakin Honda. Otherwise, be constructive, offer the man some honest, constructive feedback on his product and be glad he didn't just ride off into the sunset and retire.

Blake;

The crucible of ideas is where growth and development begins. If someone promotes something threatening, explore, dissect thoughtfully and respectfully until the truth is found. Let the chips fall where they may, respect for the truth is all that matters.

If you do a good enough job of that maybe;
1. the button pushers will get bored or learn something about getting along.
2. you will have earned the respect of the entire Buell community.
3. more sponsors will want to be here.
4. your ad rates will go up, a better experience/environment usually gets more respect.

I want you help me with my errors Blake. Please teach me how to be a more respectful and thoughtful person.

Thank You

<sigh>

"The crucible of ideas is where growth and development begins. If someone promotes something threatening, explore, dissect thoughtfully and respectfully until the truth is found. Let the chips fall where they may, respect for the truth is all that matters. "

Baloney. Respect for good people matters too. Hostile disrespect of good people won't be tolerated here, period. Revising your little high-minded dissertation is appropriate to address the root issue as follows:

If someone promotes something threatening spews forth outrageous disrespectful derision, explore, dissect thoughtfully and respectfully until the truth is found confront the misbehavior and put it in its proper place in no uncertain terms.

"I want you help me with my errors Blake. Please teach me how to be a more respectful and thoughtful person. "

Stop nagging and mind your own business.

these are the four cardinal virtues, read it now and think about it later.

prudence - the ability to govern one self with use of reason.

temperance - everything in moderation

justice - impartial fairness

fortitude - the mental state of mind where fear, pain, and adversity are met with courage.

how does attacking someone with a differing opinion or threatening someone with banishment show;
* prudence?
* temperance?
* justice?
* fortitude?
