I deffinetly need a parts lost of what to buy to mod my motor several junk yards out this way to look for cb heads : )

There's your list.

At our rotary bbq (Mazda Rotary's, not Rotary Club), one of the guys brought up harmonics of thin-wall exhaust. It's common to get a ping-like noise if the header wall thickness is too thin. I never though about that. You think that could be my issue on this bike, my 16ga header is just being noisy?

Makes sense. If you've ever traded a cast manifold for tube headers you definitely get a different 'rattle' in the exhaust.

XB9 piston! and cams (XB9 or XB12) But the cams changed about 2008(?) when they went to the new cam cover.

Yeah, it was a total facepalm moment for me. We were talking about going from the cast-iron manifold to a custom tube header and he mentioned using sch40 pipe because thin-wall makes it sound like the engine is pinging. I'd known that from building 4-banger screamers, but never actually talked it out for it to make the connection back to the Blast.

Did they change the cam profile??
