I discovered something last night and I wanted to share it with the world.

I wanted to jack up the bike to take the front wheel off. My floor jack is too tall to roll under the front of the muffler so I had to fiddle a bit. What I ended up doing was standing on the kickstand side of the bike and pulling it tword me so that it was resting on the rear tire and the kickstand. This raises the muffler, and allowed me to roll the jack under the bike. Then I rolled the bike back into a normal upright position, lowering the muffler onto the jack. When I did this, the bike came to rest on the rear tire, the kickstand, and the jack. The front wheel was not touching the ground.

I believe this means I could have raised the front wheel by pulling the bike back onto the kickstand & rear wheel and then putting a 4x4 or perhaps a 4x4 on top of a 2x6 under the muffler and letting it back down.

A similar thing could probably be done for the rear tire. I'll experiment with that the next time I have to take it off.

This is how I lift all of my bikes for either wheel. Break loose any pinch bolts or axle nuts before lifting. Torque them when it is back on the ground.

Since the Blast leans over so far on the side stand I put a 1" thick board under the side stand first, then lean the bike up on to the side stand, I push a 6" thick or so board, or block with a board, under the pipe at the front for removing the front tire, or the rear of the pipe for removing the rear tire. It is much quicker and easier than jacks and can be done anywhere including along the road.

i park under -- put 2 ratchet straps on the bike and crank it up --it lifts either end

I use an engine hoist for most of my lifts.

Provided you have proper shaped jackstands you can also tip it left on kick stand, then tip it other way on the jack stand. I intend to make a unit that sits in front of the tire and let the bike sit on swing arm and it will let you retorque the axle without being on ground.
Just remember to use part of old inner tube or a towel or shop rage between the stands and arm.
