I De-noided the bike a month or so ago. It is running great. I forgot to apply a zip tie as noted in one of the instructional posts. I tested and observed the operation of the throttle prior to reassemble and did not see a need to zip tie anything. Throttle linkage at every view point was working perfectly. Do I need to go in there again and zip tie it? thanks, Mort |

it's a safeguard. no hurry, but do it when you are changing your air filter next. |

Stock, the front and rear TBs are connected with a spring and can flutter at high intake velocities. Adding a zip-tie or safety wire keeps them "hard-linked". Z |

Thanks Smoke4ndmears and Zac4mac. Hopefully it did not affect my recent dyno tune and that I can get the zip tie on without having to remove the airbox base plate again. Mort |

let me rephrase the question what does this do to the bike? how does up performance? |

It doesn't up performance any (unless you count the weight reduction). What it DOES do, is prevent the bike from REDUCING performance... It was something to handle noise emissions IIRC, and it will close the butterfly valves a bit when certain conditions are met, effectively cutting your throttle down to something like 80% total. At least that's what I seem to remember from it, someone else please correct me if I'm wrong. |

it also has a very noticeable affect on how the throttle feels. |

I know the buell part is a resistor whats the value ohms wise, as in i have left overs from another bike im putting together and I am on extreamly tight budget. |

Anybody know for sure what the ohmage is for the resistor? And wattage? I don't see the plug in EBR's store. Any problem with just disconnecting the actuating cable and leaving the solenoid electrically connected? |

Thanks Milt. Went to EBR store. $5.00, very reasonable. Shipping is $13.50 minimum. So, I'm still looking for info on resistor. |

Plus any info on the solinoid itself i understand its a puller, I was thinking on using it on another bike Im building a turbo into as duty for either blow off or waste gate operation. |

Well, I "De-noided" The Beast today. Took about 15 minutes start to removing the actuating cable. I just removed it. Unscrewed screw cap from solenoid shaft and removed the whole thing. Took about 30 minutes to reassemble. Getting all the airbox bits and pieces together takes a little fiddling. Will gas it up tomorrow and see how it feels. I looked long and hard at the ziptie pictures and at the actuating cam. Could find no reason to put a ziptie on. Is '09 different? |
