After sleeping on it for a couple nights, THAT'S exactly what I'm gonna do. Another red Multistrada 1200S. I loved that bike; it took me across the country in fine fashion. So when does the 2011 arrive? Better place the order soon! |

Gonna enjoy the '06 Uly in the meantime as well, as soon as I'm fit. And doggone it, next year I'll be at Homecoming. On some kinda bike... --Doc Doc, glad to hear your alright and going to get back on your Uly again soon. Look forward to seeing you at Homecoming, just hoping that there is actually going to be a Buell Homecoming next year! It's already getting late in November and nobody has even started planning the event yet. I guess time will tell. |

Glad this story has a happy ending-just read the whole thread. I'm really glad you didn't get out of riding. Life is dangerous-enjoy it. Not riding does not keep anyone safe-worse wreck I ever had was in a car, as a passenger. You just can't tell. That's why I think we need to enjoy it! |

I think it might have been God reminding Dr.Greg He does not think much of idolatry. Giving him another chance though...it is good! Just don't write "Idol" on the next one's fuel tank Greg. |

Dr Greg the whole Ducati incident notice I didn't say accident could be the ghost of a certain Uly that didn't want to replaced by a sharp red dress wearing Italian model. Remember Stephen Kings Christine! |

Heck, I just might buy it back myself! Lotsa good parts on that bad boy (or girl)! Dr Greg the whole Ducati incident notice I didn't say accident could be the ghost of a certain Uly that didn't want to replaced by a sharp red dress wearing Italian model. Remember Stephen Kings Christine! But he's NOT being replaced! I still plan to commute on him, and will begin my riding season on the Uly. --Doc |

Doc, thought you'd go with at least a different color! Looks mighty fine though. Hey where's old #044? |

Doc its the poor Uly in pieces most likely stuffed under a work bench. Listen when its quiet and you will hear put me back on the road!!! Get the original Uly back on the road before stepping out with another Hot Italian in Red. It could prevent another INCIDENT Ice in july ? |

That's a nice Hawk GT in the background... I sold mine about 18 years ago, and I still miss it. |

Doc, thought you'd go with at least a different color! Looks mighty fine though. Hey where's old #044? I had to get RED since I already had the RED top case (which wasn't attached at the time of the crash). Also already had the wider RED side case covers (for long trips). So white or black woulda looked sorta weird with those RED pieces attached... Ol' number 044 is right back of the garage door...waiting for me to scavenge more parts when needed. Dr Greg, I see a unicycle hanging in the background. You are a natural born risk taker, aren't you! That's my #1 son's unicycle; he learned to ride it when he was living in Japan. You won't catch me on one of those! Get the original Uly back on the road before stepping out with another Hot Italian in Red. Well, the ORIGINAL Uly (#044) is now the parts bike. No reason to get it on the road and have TWO Ulys, no? I will certainly resume riding on '06 Uly #564. That's a nice Hawk GT in the background... I sold mine about 18 years ago, and I still miss it. Good eye. Yes, that's a '91, last year they made 'em. Bought it for #1 son, then sold it. Bought it again (sheer coincidence) for #4 son, who now rides it. He commutes when he has to; he's not much of a riding enthusiast... I'm healing slowly; back to working half days, at least. --Doc |

It would appear that Ducati feels they've had a banner year, especially with the Multistrada. I guess when they sell two Milledues (not sure how the plural for Milledue goes) in the same 12 month period to the same guy, they can afford to put NO LESS THAN 4 full page ads for the bike in the same issue of Cycle World. The fifth one is in question because its more of a clothing ad than a Multistrada shot. Nicely done, Dr. G. Your work has not gone unnoticed! |

I found a lot of the early comments on ADV interesting when they went on about your speed. I also found you comment interesting about the bike not being totaled and worrying about it not handling. A couple of years ago, I had a similar thing happen on my brand new '09 BMW RT. I was traveling on a straight away at 65 MPH, the front tire went completely out from under me and the bike flipped a few times down the highway. In my case it was water on pure tar that caused the problem for me (and another cyclist 10 minutes later). My insurance company decided to repair the bike claiming it was about 7K worth of damage. The BMW dealership found all sorts of stuff the insurance adjuster didn't. By the time everything was said and done, the bike cost $14,000 to repair. The nice thing about the RT/GS design is it's not all one frame. Both the front and rear sub-frames had to be replaced, but the main frame was not damaged. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical that the bike would ride the same, but I'm happy to say that the bike handles the same now as it did prior to the accident. Good luck with your new bike (and try to keep this one on two wheels). Wayne |

It's ingenious - you seem to be creating your own parts bikes. ... |
