I posted pictures in the Old School board, but I'm so proud of this bike I want to make sure everyone gets a chance to see it! I bought Black Betty, a 2002 X1, in December from a guy in Florida. All I knew at the time was that she wouldn't turn over, and that the front spark plug was bent. Turns out that the front piston had a quarter size hole in it from dropping the exhaust valve at high rpm. Before: After:

yep '99 tank cover. Blacklight LED's all over the engine bay including inside the nostrils so they "glare" at you. |

I hope you have intergrated rear turn signals if you don't...You better stay out of NY. |

the rear signals are integrated. Still illegal since most states have a law about a minimum distance that the signals have to be spaced away from the brake light. |

You realize how much I don't like you now!! LOL Very nice job!!!! The good side is that the longer I leave my '01 reasonably stock, the more unique it becomes, so thanks for that. Good on ya! Dave |

I love tubers in that color, I wonder if my wife will notice one in that color... You can't post NRHS cylinders and not tell what the engine has in it... It's Buelltiful! There was a red 99 X1 for sale locally a while ago... I wish I was in the position to buy it... |

The engine is just a 1250 kit. all stock valvetrain, and reworked heads from a low mileage '99 M2. I may end up adding .536 cams and Stage II headwork later on, but I want to get her broken in first. The 1250 kit was an easy decision because it wasn't too much more expensive than the stock parts I had to replace anyway. |
