Couple people have posted instructions. I did not know how either prior.

\ youtube{paste 11 chars here}

Remove the space between the \ and youtube. Just put the _1zddoGR2dM in the brackets or obviously the 11 digit code from whatever video you are linking to.

it was really windy out so there is alot of background noise though

Very nice Tim. I am getting much better at the sit down wheelies...but still feel too awkward doing the stand ups. I think I am too tall or something (6'-4"). The few times I have tried a stand up it feels like the handlebars are so low (since I am standing up).

Let me get this straight... the two people you passed did not know you were coming up behind them? You caused them to go into the on-coming lane to avoid you doing a wheelie on a public road? You think this is funny? I sincerely hope that I have the facts wrong, because if it as it seems- you are the definition of a SQUID and your video should be pulled from this site (after sending a copy to your local law enforcement agency). As it is presented, this is a perfect example of dangerous, irresponsible riding and should be condemned by everyone here.

I'm sure they knew he was coming, they were looking back and were traveling at a slow speed, moved over when they saw him coming on a country road that you can see miles ahead at any cars coming. Squids can't complete a stand up like that with ease (more than once) and tell about. The funny part is a person like you telling people how much of an idiot they are while doing 10 under on public roads. You are the kind of guy I watch out for while I'm speeding down the highway on MY bike at speeds I choose. Wish I could see your face as I fly by you at 165. GO BUY A SCOOTER Redbuelljunkie!

You all have answered my question. If you live long enough to grow pubes, you'll understand stunting on public roads is never acceptable. Unfortunately, there are some members of this site whom youth, idiocy, and inexperience take precedence over basic common sense and respect for others. Some day, you will grow up, and you will realize that you were wrong... but I accept that until then, you are not going to listen to a thing I have to say. I hope none of you hurt yourself, or any others (riders, drivers, or pedestrians).

as was said, they knew i was coming. we met each other down the road(not doing a wheelie) and they watched me turn around and come back towards them from behind. they were watching from the time i stood the thing up. if they wouldnt have been watching and moved over i would have set it down along time before that.

and i must not have been paying attention when i was doing it or when i was watching the video because i never saw the oncoming traffic you speak of. and this is central iowa, you can see for miles on almost any road.

you have no idea how long i sit around before i do a wheelie. on that road i can see for about a 4 mile stretch and i dont do a wheelie like that if there is even one car in that range of view.

if you want you can send it to my local law enforcement, or i just could have let you talk to him when he brought us tomato's from his garden about an hour ago.

just curious, you have never gone over a posted speed limit i assume then? because we all know how stupid and dangerous that is and an intelegent person would never do that for any reason what so ever.

lets see, im 31 so not a youth, i graduated from highschool and am capable of accomplishing things that most people i meet will never do. can you rebuild a jet engine without a manual and have it run first time out? how about operate multiple styles and sizes of cranes? how about design and build a bridge? i have had my hand in building over half the bridges in this state. plus if i'm an idiot you better not walk into many walmarts because i designed and built the joists and the rest of the supports for over 700 of them. i have also been riding for 23 years on 15 of them on the street. atleast we have those bases covered.

Nice shots of Jen's feet too. heheheh

So it's cool to do 165 on public streets and weave in and out of traffic doing stand up wheelies? Those are dangerous acts and they cause the general public to have a low opinion of motorcyclists. I am disappointed that you guys think this type of behavior is acceptable.

Oh, and I'm old, so go ahead and make fun of me for that too. Hopefully you'll be old enough for others to make fun of one day as well.

I don't really have a problem with Tim's video because it did appear to be in a very isolated area. I don't see what graduating from HS, building jet engine, or designing joists in Wal-Mart, impressive as those things may be, have to do with safe or unsafe motorcycle riding behavior though.

Ok, flame away.

That's one long straight road, no corners nearby to keep you amused huh?
I can't believe popping a wheelie on a backroad in rural Iowa is controversial...
Thought I'd accidentally clicked on a BMW board for a second there.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!? Put that front wheel down sonny... and fit 3 center stands and hard luggage immediately!"

it really has nothing to do with it, but since this is a thread about what i was doing i will just take this Unfortunately, there are some members of this site whom youth, idiocy, and inexperience take precedence over basic common sense and respect for others. Some day, you will grow up, and you will realize that you were wrong as directed towards me so i responded to being called a youth, and idiot, and inexperianced which i am none of.

i still had fun, and so did the guys in the video.

disclaimer... no people, cars, or motorcycles were harmed in the filming of this video. infact there were only 3 witnesses as seen in said video...

Not that I'll ever try something like this myself, but just curious... is it clutch, throttle and rear brake all at the same time?

this thread makes my day

anywho... back to the riding....

how fast are you going and what gear when you stand it up? are you at balance point or are you continually accelerating throughout your wheelie: WHats your longest?#

iv got a few roads around here littered with 3 foot rubber marks from when i set my wheelies down and my tire regains speed again. its pretty cool looking! scares drivers allot when your front tire smokes when you put it down haha

Tim,
Great wheelies! Did you clutch it or bounce it up? What gear were you in?

All bluster & buffoonery aside, It prob would have been better & safer if your buds parked on the side & cheered you on. (Not that I haven't performed similarly at times).

Hey D_buckle, the point is common sense. I see that he's on a road where nothing is going on. I give him credit for that. His riding skill is great.

But, a dumb ass like you who rides on one wheel through traffic like you say you do should be taken off the road. That is if you don't do that yourself before someone else can. Trust me, Darwin WILL catch up with you at some point. It's stupid crap like that that gives sportbike riders as a whole a bad name. Take it to a closed course!

You can try to flame me all you want. I'm 30, so I'm not old. Hell, I'm younger than Tim. And I happen to road race my Buell so I'm plenty familiar with exceeding the speed limit, ON A CLOSED COURSE! You want to weave through traffic like an idiot, do it with the other bikes at a track day. That's where the real skill is anyway. I've seen Tim ride on the track, and he has plenty of skill there also!! An instructor of mine once said, "You can teach a monkey to go 170mph in a straight line, teaching that monkey to brake for turn 1 and hit the apex is a whole different story!"

What you guys don't think about is the selfishness of what you're doing. What if your dumb ass falls in front of my car on the freeway with myself, my wife, and my three innocent children inside. I swerve to miss you, when I should run your ass over, and lose control. I cross the median and get t-boned by another car. My wife and three kids are killed. How you gonna reason your way out of that one? I suppose that would be my fault, not your stupidity, right?

Schmitty

P.S.
That scooter stoppie was cheating, he's riding downhill!!
