Yeah, but at least it has an oil check window. Sure beats my X1. Pulling the seat and balancing the friggin' bike while yanking on a reluctant dip stick is a pain. |

I LOVE the first scratch on a new bike, car, etc. It ends all the obsession with waxing and polishing every other day or so. That's the TRUTH for me.. |

Its fine, I actually pulled the bike a little further than upright. I dont have any stands yet & its a pain to hold a bike upright while you are on your knees & trying to take a friggin pic of an oil window |

I like the look of the front fairing, and the tail section. Maybe it's the shroud around the radiator that just makes it look like too much.
I dunno, maybe if I really looked one over I'd feel differently. |

900 cm2 can't be the cc's. That would be 900 cm3
cm2 = square centimeters, cm3 = cubic centimeters. |

Look at the same area in the first picture.(right under the clutch) It looks like it says 2900cm3. If the bike holds 3 quarts of oil, that would make sense. What we're seeing could be a product of angles and lighting. |

XB owners wish they had it so easy to bolt on protection for their frames. maybe this will be the year Buell listens & the frames come with slider mounts? |

Come on all. You think it is hard to check the oil on a Buell because the seat has to come off. Wow, I have to open the door of the car and then pop the hood and then unlatch the hood and open it then pull a dip stick out. Boy do we have it hard. I also know that I only have to look in the oil tank and I can tell if it's full or not. There has been more than 1 Jap bike fall over when someone straightens the bike up then bends down to look in the oil level sight glass and lost their balance. Try doing it with my old ladies Road Star. She can't check her oil for that reason. She wishes she had a dip stick just like the M2.
It also makes it unlikely someone will put something into your engine oil filler hole. Thats why we have locking gas caps isn't it? enough said about this I guess. |

ManTrap...Normally I would agree with you, but having seen them on Dyna's R1, they blend in so well, they look like they belong there. Almost OEM in a way. |

I'll tell ya what...its not that big of a deal to check the oil on either Tubers or XB's but it would be cool to see a peep sight for the oil built in the side of the swing arm on my XB12S. |

It is a hassle if your riding cross country and are loaded down with saddlebags and camping gear. Got to remove all that stuff just to check the oil level. I seriously considered coming up with a two-piece seat for the M2 to be able to check the oil without removing the rear seat half. Would be real nice to be able to check the oil while gassing up. But such is life, play the cards dealt or find a new table. Back to sketching out seat ideas. |

I agree with you totally Mike. When you have bags on it is a pain in the butt. I use soft bags and they come off every night when I am done riding. I check the oil then as I have to remove the seat to take them off anyway. I also made a bracket that attaches to the rear fender and holds the bags out from the wheel. I also use that clear static sticky stuff on the painted area and I have never had any abrasive damage. |

Where do you get that "clear static sticky stuff"? I've been using an old towel on my M2, but i'd like to try the clear plastic stuff. |

Hey Crusty, you can find the clear static sticky stuff at any decal or graphics supplier. You can get it in any size. I just put mine on where I need it and mark it with a magic marker then cut it out. It stays on easily for 2 weeks and then when you take it off the bike is perfect. Put it in the garage and when you need to use it (sticky stuff) again just wash it in warm water and soap. |

at the drag strip I have seen guys use clear stretch wrap...the kind for food...I think they used a little vaseline on the qtr panels also to help it stick. Keeps all the rubber from the burnouts off the paint.
Get done & just pull it off & wipe the panel down, good as new. |
