Netscape has a little pictorial about the most popular dog breeds: http://channels.netscape.com/ns/living/gallery.jsp?gname=breeds2003

Other than no mention of who says they are the most popular or any figures to back that up, I did get a laugh out of the first one:
Labrador Retriever
Country of Origin: Canada
Maximum Height: 25 Inches
Maximum Weight: 75 Pounds
Coat Color: Yellow, Chocolate
Natural Instincts: Hunting, Fishing, Guiding the Blind

The dog's natural instincts include fishing and guiding the blind? Yeah, ok, my parents lab carries her tackle box everywhere but I've never seen her jump out of the side car to go guide a sight-impared person...

The golden retriever and GSD also list guiding the blind ... the poodle lists "retrieving."

Yep, thats right, I know from experience, the poodle is the best damn retriever dog ever bred!
My wifes poodle never, ever, ever shit in the house. Never once! But every night the little angel would sneek outside and retrieve her shit from the yard and bring it into the house for us to take care of. Damn I loved that dog. I sure do miss her. Would anyone like to hear the rest of the story about her demise?

My uncle Dale ran over his own poodle and mulched it with his riding lawn mower. Didn't slow the mower down one bit. Yap, yap, poof, red mist. How's that for the demise of a good retriever.

> the poodle is the best damn retriever

I just thought it funny the poodle listed retriever and the retriever didn't.

I have a pure bred shit-zu. It was my wifes before we were dating and she need a place for the dog to live when she moved. I told her I would take care of the dog till she found a place to keep it. Well 2 years later we were married. Anyway, for a small dog he is pretty cool. He likes to sleep alot, he doesn't bark unless I make him, and he never leaves a mess in the house. he is kinda like a cat with a fun, no additude personality. Oh yeah, he doesn't shed either! HUGE bonus!!!

I've always loved Chocolate Labs and ended up with this mutt, Jack, by accident. He trained like a Lab and is fabulous! Picture taken at 10:00AM this morning.

Well, the the demise of the retriever poodle is unkown. I took it to the pound early one Saturday morning and it hasn't found its way back since! Funny though, the pencil necked gayboy at the rescue counter asked if I wanted to leave a donation, the only thing I could do was reach into my pocket and hand him a bullet. In Michigan it is now a felony to dispatch domestic animals at home, so you have to take them to a professional, gives new meaning to "Don't try this at home kids!". So now you have to practice the 3 S's.
I now have 2 Jack Russels, a Beagle and a Professional Stunt Cat.

I was waiting for a comment like that!!!!

Labrador Retreivers - they are awfully familiar around here seeing I am from Newfoundland & Labrador!!!

The Newfoundland Dog Breed is probably one of the most rewarding breeds you could ever own.

Notice a theme here...

These are our two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and our poor outgunned Beagle. Notice where they make her sleep in her own kennel.

One retrieves things from the pond, the other runs around the pond barking, trying to herd the wet one back to safety. Dogs are strange.

Swampy you're a brave man. You have a beautiful daughter and you're willing to let the guys around here know about her! My daughter is 7 week away from being born and I'm already thinking where the machine gun emplacements are going to go around the house.

Here's a one of a kind, a special breed, an Angus.

Angus eating babyfood
Eating babyfood
Angus with his Barney
sleeps with a Barney, sucks on his head like a pacifier, we have 3 for him.
Lapdog
Thinks he's human sometimes, just a big lapdog.
My Puppy, 27" tall, 85 lbs
27" tall, about 85lbs, he's 4 yrs old, my wife worked at a vet, this lady came in with puppies they thought were about 5-6 days old,the mother had been run over and killed. We've raised Angus since then. He actually thinks he's a human.
