I would like to say I feel very lucky to be part of a generation where people are, for the most part, very appreciative of service members. I, and other veterans my age, must not take for granted the good will and gratitude we receive. Many others have not been so lucky to live in a time where "supporting the troops" is in, and those are the ones I would like to thank.

I would also like to say that I believe thanking the families of veterans is just as important. They go through a lot, and put up with a lot, and sometimes it is more difficult for those we leave behind. Most families take a ton of pride in what their loved ones have accomplished and they deserve a great deal of credit for their support and sacrifices.

Thank you to those that have served, and families and loved ones that have made that possible.

Ryan, I really miss the great riding out there, starting rides out of Manitou Springs to any of a hundred destinations.

Good for him. The USCG has a great mission and it is expanding. I talk to a few USCG people at work daily. If I had to do it all over again I would seriously consider the USCG and become a Puddle Pirate. I love their early AM commercial "They are the Defenders of the Homeland".

Thanks to all that served, are serving and will serve. Remember the men and women that are on duty 24/7 in countries around the world, far from their families, protecting us.

I was surprised when I opened my paper this morning, no big memorial day anything on the front page. I think they forgot...at least the advertisers remembered...I remembered. I will be spending some time trying to figure out where and how I'm going to mount my all weather flag and put a light on. That way I don't have to crawl on my old falling down roof to take it down and put it up. Any way back to point, any vets, service men/woman/ active inactive, future service, WE remember what memorial day is!
