Yeah, until he deemed a thread unworthy of discussion, in which case he'd hijack it with posts relating to his most excellent ski trips. All the other little dicks that thought it cool to agree with tramp would assist in the hijacking, feeling very cool to have helped kill someone else's viewpoint. | ||

You maybe mean a different tramp. I am talking about the tramp who was well-known in the 1960s motorcycle culture in california, who has been serving a sentence in the california state prison system since 1999 or 1998. He was in his late 60s. | ||

Ya know what? . . . . over the years I've learned it's a long game. I've found folks I disagreed with during my years in school, the USMC, The White House, running a construction company, working at Buell, building power plants and being a student. I focus on my game, listen to others, the ones I agree with and the ones I don't agree with and allow very few folks the power to take me off course. It's an acquired art. | ||

I found his "Know It All" attitude abrasive at times, especially when he'd argue opinion against fact as if his opinion was more valid. Eventually I learned it was useless to argue, so when he got on that high horse, I'd just ignore the thread going forward. It was best for my blood pressure. When he was right, he was right. But even when he was WRONG, he was right. | ||

I feel similar to Jaimec about Tramp. It's still fun to have characters like him and Rocket around. I guess Rocket just wouldn't let up, his own damn fault he got the boot. He was like a smarter and more well informed version of Buellgrrl, but the Buells suck message was the same. | ||

What set Tramp apart is that he is really smart. Granted he gets passionate about his positions but he is one of the few who has demonstrated both that sort of passion coupled with the intellectual firepower to back it up. | ||

Problem with Tramp: 1. He was smart, but not nearly as smart as he thought he was. 2. He didn't understand that one can disagree without being disagreeable. 3. He didn't show the respect for the group that characterizes members who, over the years, have come to be respected by their brothers. 4. Simply put, he was a bit of a wise guy, whose presence was less valuable to the brotherhood than his absence. | ||

Reading all of this tells me two things. number one is that I would likely enjoy meeting tramp, and number two is that he brings out the festering envy and jealousy in the few thin-skinned people here. | ||
