Alan, there are several chain hotels in Dahlonega which isn't too far away. Another decent place to stay is Vogel State Park which is on 129 at the north end of Wolfpen Gap Road (Suches is at the south end). They have cabins. |

What about Cleveland, GA? Looks like GA 129/11 runs right through Cleveland and all these towns seem pretty close together. Are there any maps of sugggested routes or good roads to ride? Hopefully I can bump into some regulars and tag along with them. hint hint |

Cleveland is near by. A nice run up 129, to 19, to 60 to TWO. Or 129, 180 (Wolf Pen Gap) to TWO's front door. I like being real near by, I hate to run some of those roads after dark, and the partying ALWAYS lasts well after dark. We're camping at TWO. I'll be in the area, as soon as Thursday, no later than Friday early. It'll be easy to find, I'm the slow one... |

Go to the "Two Wheels Only" Suches website and research from there. The cabins available should be your best bet. From what I've heard, there are a lot of good folks offering great lodging for good $$$. Camping at TWO is the best- just set up your campsite, then head to Dalhonega's Wallyworld to get your foodstuffs and perishables. But don't miss at least one or two meals at the TWO lodge. Wish I were going! Dammit. Ya MO BE DERE for October. |

Glitch, I was just there a couple weeks ago and it was loaded with pea sized gravel. I couldnt take a corner faster over 10mph without sliding out. I hope that was just for winter. |

+1, road scouts! be careful out there- water, ice, and SALT all conspire to make your ride suck. within 10/10ths, run back at 6 or 7 of your seconds alive. It aint no road course. |

Both Shred and I have backpacks. We've also have a few inches of rain this weekend, it ought to get the majority of it. They don't use salt when it ices, they use gravel and sand. It's a mess, but it cleans up pretty fast. Traffic will also get some of it out of the way. |

Alan, all you'll have to do is hang out at TWO and you'll meet everyone. TWO is the main HQ. A clean Richard Russell is a happy Richard Russell! |

Whats the lodging situation like? Alan - check out the cabin below. Not sure how many you have going, but this cabin sleeps 4-5 comfortably. We just let this one go because of so many in our group having to back out. It's a nice cabin and very reasonable. Bambi is great to work with. http://www.suchescabinrentals.com/deerwatch/ |

Ulywife, How many do you need to secure your cabin. If your crew is still coming and Its a buell is on the way with his crew, I would throw my hat in the pool to stay in a cabin. Just a thought.... Since I was going to camp in the back 40 with Brad and now he is out. I most likely will be telling the spooky biker boogey man stories to myself if I camp there. |

Slowride - I let go of the small cabin, we kept C3 Central. If you're interested in a spot there, drop me a PM and I'll e-mail you the details. Kristi |

Slowride, I will be there in the back 40(not that that will be the same as having Brad there), along with my compadre' Orangulilus and potentially two others whom I travel with occasionally. The consumption of mass quantities around the camp fire is still in the works(last time my wife went so I had to stay in a cabin). |

Thanks, it is nice to know you care! This economic time has things a mess for sure, but some of us will have to be there anyways. There has to be a little 'time out' for the sake of one's sanity. |

Vern, Thanks for the warning, uh I mean good to know I would have good quality company if I camped back there. Truth is, I am not much for sharing my space. I almost lost my life and just about took several with me in the Marines due to my snoring and my bad attitude about those that had something to say about it. Friggin qaunsent huts.... Thrux, Will you be joinin us for MBVI? Good to see you're still kickin. |

Micah, of all of the things you could mention, the snoring thing! Wolfridgerider, my oldest son, a friend of ours, and about 200 people camping in the infield at Daytona said the same thing to me in the morning. To which I replied "what? No, really I slept fine". The last two times at TWO are the only ones I have been in a cabin. It won't be happening this time for sure. That back 40 campground is my space to share, and I am willing to do so weather I am there or not, you are welcome sir! As for having a campfire and standing around passing the jug, it is the essence of my being that makes me say.....I don't know nothing and I can prove it! |

Micah & Vern - I always warn people that set up camp near me that some have told me I snore. If they complain the next morning I always, "Really? I didn't hear a thing." |
