And we want it for a grand under current prices, since you can sell it in Europe for almost $500.00 dollars less than we can get it in the USA. Who wants candy colors, when you can have Black! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/253912/432670.html?1233964993

The XB9 looks totally cool all Black - whats not to like - especially the lower price - candy is dandy but Black is quicker! EZ |

Exactly! Both of my bikes serve their purpose well, however, I want a bike for extra long distance back road riding - a twin. I want to do more 300 to 600 mile type rides and a twin would be perfect for that - that kind of mileage in a day would really tax the thumper, however, it would be perfect for a twin. So saving the in-city bike for its duties, the weekend carver for its duties, I want a 3rd bike for distance riding - all my old friend and family lives over 500 miles away - by good back roads - over 600 miles - and I want to visit more, so I'm looking at the twins, for that the XB9 in particular - while doing so I noticed that Europe is getting the cool version of the bike I want at a price even cheaper than I could buy the Candy ones here. I'll pass on the candy colors, and to turn it black would cost a grand and then I would be paying a $1500 more than what Europe is paying - to me that is a total rip off to the American public who are home to the Buell company. Would you charge your family more than your customers - that is how it feels to me. I think the guy who had this idea must be the same one who put the cool Sportster for sale in Europe first - why he hasn't been fired by now is beyond me. First he gives HD a black eye, now Buell. This is not a shinning moment for them in this point - I've talked to a lot of folks and they are in agreement with me - that is the coolest looking XB9 to date - and they would get it in a heartbeat, but who is it offered to? Sigh - I feel someone is spending too much time in a corporate office and not enough time riding the product! Everyone knows by now that I am a total Buell fan, but this really irked me, and if it got to me - one of the biggest kool-aid chuggers around here - then its got to be bothering others as well. EZ |

EZ - it was a joke. I think the black bike looks awesome, but hey, that's the beauty of a motorcycle - you can customize it however you want. So if they don't make it, you can make it! After all, you've shown us your handiwork, and you do a far better job than any designer at Buell could do at making a bike that looks exactly how you want it. |

Actually - at least for me - the Black bike was always easier to keep clean than the Red, and Black wheels and frame would make it easier yet. EZ |

I know Sean - its just that its a bike I wouldn't have to do anything to, and I like that concept, since I'll still be tinkering with the singles. If Terry P.'s 720cc motor survives, I might go there on the next single rebuild, and I have other single Blast projects lined up as well, so working on the third bike would be limited to maintenance for the most part. Thats why I want it to look good from the go! EZ |

I expect it'll happen, look at the XR1200, Europe first as well. This is where the money is at the moment & the marketing folks know that. |

Maybe MG - however, they must surely know that they are alienating customers as well, by giving Europe first dibs on the cool stuff, and at a better price point as well! EZ |

Why would they NOT release it in Europe first? They have a better exchange rate right now and releasing it there would allow Buell to move some lower cost bikes in the European market. Will we get it here? Sure. Here, though, it'll be one of the more expensive models and the potential for sales will be lower. I think it'll be a great competitor to a Monster Dark or other variant in Europe at a great price. |

That could and should happen here first. Would you charge your family more than your customers? Thats how I and others look at it - they are getting a price point we more than well deserve in our own right, and are not getting - that is offensive. EZ |

they are getting a price point we more than well deserve in our own right How do you define 'deserve' in this context? They saw a market opportunity that appears to be more profitable than what you'd like. That's business. Give it time, and I'm sure you just may get what you want.} |

I know that they will probably bring it here as well - but at that price point? That is the question - why should we pay more than Europe - that price should be close to a grand less for us if you consider the price of overseas shipping is in that equation as well, yet I bet we do not even see close to the Euro price - so yeah - I'm beating a horse, but this horse deserves a good beating - I - for one - do not want their marketing to just breeze past this, and blow their US customers off with the old - they'll forget it in a few days bit - I for one will not, and I'm sure there are others who will not either. EZ, Drop the paranoia. It's something that can be done in Europe because of the crazy exchange rate, and it can't be done in the US. When the exchange rate goes back to something more normal, the model won't be available in Europe either! No horse needing beating. |

Ahhh - but it would be an instant success here - everyone I've shown the Black XB9 to thinks it is totally hot - that combination just hits the right cord with a lot of folks, and I'd hate to see a great idea disappear, so I'm campaigning. When last I talked to someone with the mother company- at a dinner, they said the Blast would only last another year or two, yet its popularity drove it to being sold for over double that amount of time, I think something as the above could do the same for the workhorse - XB9. No paranoia, just a keen sight for not wanting to loose a good opportunity. Thank you for answering though - I really appreciate that. EZ |

I bought an apartment in feb 08 @$1.52 to a Euro it is currently 1.27 that is getting as close to normal as I have seen actually last month it hit $1.24. Does that mean the end to the xb9 black or just the production year which I guess has been accounted forwill still be available or how about selling what hasn't shipped yet here. The exchange rate has been actually closer to normal since NOV. so what you are saying is the black should no longer be available in 2010 save the shipping and bang em out HERE fellas. |

I'd say buy 'em while they last. The money guys play some games with buying exchange futures, and the black 9 was priced and set up summmer of last year. So they may last a bit longer in Europe, but it will have to end if the Euro continues where it is or drops lower. |

I figured as much but there is still that late run shipping issue come on ship em local before gas goes up again and makes it cheaper to ship to Europe than NJ as it usually does. Anyway thanks for the explanation. Dave |
