I was planning on getting a nightster but now that HD came out with the 883 Iron for $7899 I will have to get that and go with a 1250 Nallin kit and get the heads done to Stage 2 specs. What do you guys think of the new Iron with it's cast black wheels and blacked out motor? I already know it it low and cornering clearance is limited and the low suspension is harsh so save that speech for someone else. |

What I or anybody else thinks doesn't matter. If the bike moves you, then get it. It's going to be sitting in your garage, and it's the bike that your butt will be sitting on. If it looks and feels right for you, then it would be wrong to not get it. I hope it gives you as much pleasure as my XT gives to me. |

Sportsters ROCK. I messed up and didn't get a Roadster last year, like the Super TT, now it's gone. Still got my 2000 Sporty, some days the XB or M2 are just too much................... Go for it. |

I am this close to selling my ZX-10R for one. I'm not sure I can make the leap from superbike to cruiser, though. I'm not a Harley fan by any means, but it's very tempting. (I can only imagine what my sport bike ridin' gang will think if I pull up in an Iron 883.) It is a bad-ass looking bike. Oh, my opinion, I say go for it. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are great, long lasting and low maintenance. It's a lot of the dealerships (and poser salesmen) that SUCK. Anyone that mentions Sportsters or Buells knows what I'm talking about. Ran out of XB drain plug "O" rings yesterday, stopped by Destination Dork, "we can order them for you" Went to Home Depot, they had them, 10 for $1.98. BTW seems like Destination Dork is charging over retail for Buell parts as well. They also had a large selection of left over 08s and even a 07, wonder why? |

Put a set of clubman handle bars on it... black slip on mufflers... black heat wrap the headers... or Storz exhaust... el Cafe/Flat tracker... |

I think that ANY H-D machine that eliminates or reduces chrome gets my vote on looks alone! |

I miss my Sporty, but its sale enabled me to start my racing effort! I'd love to get another one and cafe it out!! Not a big fan of mag wheels though. |

I was at the local HD shop this past weekend, saw the Iron. They had already swapped the pipes for black ones. Looked sweet. I love the nightster look, the only thing that irks me about both of these is the 3.3 gallon tank. It looks great, but they should include w/ sale a GPS database of gas station locations. |

include w/ sale a GPS database of gas station locations. You should try riding a Ironhead with a peanut tank on it.... 70 miles or so and you better be on the hunt for a gas station.... you forget to take it off reserve one time when you put gas in it..... you will remember the next time.. pushing that heavy bastard SUCKED! |

No rice, that exhaust is cool but I think it and the footpegs would clash on the xr1200. Looks fine on the Iron/Nightsters. |

That Vance and Hines exhaust, in black, would be a knock out on that Iron 883. |

Sleez, that's the old outlaw indy pipe. Nice and short but i wonder about it's ground clearance compared to stock. They need to make an under engine exhaust for the XR. Why hasn't anyone thought of that already? |

Vance & Hines makes that new Comp Series for all the VR models too. I'm thinking about it. Only drawback is how loud its going to be. It's an awfully short pipe. Also, you'll need to buy a fuel management system like V&H FuelPak or Power Commander III, that's about $300.00 bones. Both of those are emulators, basically bypassing the stock ecm's commands. One of the Irons at the local HD shop already has mini ape-hangers and forward controls mounted. is there no shame? |

you were expecting them to put rear sets on it, and flip the handlebars upside down, at a small fair shield and run the hell out of it ?!?!?! thats more my style, pity it would scrape every where. |

I love that bike and the Nightster. I've been dreaming about a Nightster with some 18" Z-bars, the Vance & Hines sideshots wrapped in black header tape, wire wheels and a fat tire kit. |
