i would have liked to see that!

heck, this would actually be a little better then the racing on gravel i occasionally do(well its been a few years). the spikes in the tires give you better traction then street tires on gravel do. trust me when i say a sportbike racing on back road gravels is on hell of a handfull. they really float at 100 though... lol

I worry about you sometimes Tim......

Then again, aren't we all every time we suit up and head out for a ride? : )

He he...

Brings back memories of my youth!

Riding an MuZ 125 on a frozen lake with studded knobbies.

I can tell you this. When you wipe out, you really wipe out! Generally with little harm to yourself and the bike unless you happen to be close to shore.

I used to race my YZ250 on the ice.
Had heavly studded tires front and back. This was before the trick studs they have now. We used slotted hex head sheet metal screws. 100's of them per tire.
Some of the bar type knobs had 3 of them!
You could drag the bars in corners and wheelie out of every turn.
The flat track bikes were the fast ones.
The quads will lay up an ice chip cloud in front of you that you wouldn't believe!

The ruts in the corners at the end of the day were sometimes a foot deep in spots.

Man, that was FUN!!!

That's an accurate statement.

In a couple of years, Thomas will be old enough to be riding with us to Homecoming, his comments on your riding will be... well... interesting : )

I took 700 pics on Sunday of the ice races. When I go thru 'em all, I'll post some up here.

lol, he's probably in need of a refresher course on how to wheelie! its been a few years since last time.

now you have to admit i usually take it pretty easy when we are running around at homecoming(atleast with the bigger groups). i may be nutz but i try not to be stupid(atleast where many people will see!)

Back in the late 60's used to go to Lake Webster Mass. They raced about everything on that lake, Bikes, snow mobiles, cars. It was worth a day trip to see the action. Some of NEBO guys are from that area, I wonder if they still race there.

Keep looking at the link through the day, I'm only about 1/3rd done with the uploads. 4.2GB worth of pictures takes a while : )

The wife and I were hanging out with Dan Bilansky, and Dean Hagman. If you saw their front fender setup, you'd see some of my handywork. A nice billet aluminum fender mount : )

Thanks!

I was over around Dean and Gordy a couple times, but I wasn't heads up on the fender. I think Danny and I were riding together right around the 30 minutes left mark. Then I fell. Then I fell again...LOL! I don't ride big ice bikes enough. Going to have to work on that for the 2010 race.

See, I'd LOVE to do that. But I'd be the slowest guy out there. And The guy that fell the MOST : )

Hey, if you know Gordy's email address, he wanted some of my pics for the article he's writing. Send him over to my flickr site, or have him email me, and I'll burn him a DVD with 'em all.

I'm 26. Used that for years.

Second time on the Buell that weekend. I don't have the HP numbers of Danny or Ed, for that matter.

Is Danny doing an XB this year? Only an 1125?

I don't think even Danny knows what he's doing yet this year. But he did say regardless he'll be doing some blackhawk races. And he does still have one XB left.

He did achieve a 5th place in Asra Thunderbike on Dean's XB last year. So it's not *JUST* HP : )

LOL! I know it's not just HP. But have Danny race himself on his Buell and Dean's XB and I bet that Danny would win on Danny's Buell.

But... have Danny race on Deans, and Dean race on Dannys, and I bet Danny still wins : )

And it aggravates Dean to know this : )
