My first two Buells had names that were plays on popular titles. My 2000 M2 Cyclone was "Ferdinand" (anyone else remember the children's story of "Ferdinand the Bull?"). My 2006 XB12Ss was "Ferris" for "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (I took a day off from work to pick it up, too). I couldn't think of what to call my new 1125R till I was looking through my DVD collection, and it hit me. "Ivan" (pronounced "ee-VON"). That's short for "Ivan Danko" and I'll let you all use Google to try and figure out why I'd give a red motorcycle with a muscular Austrian engine that name... |

Mine has been called the Crazy Train by my riding buddies. Most of them are a little long in the tooth and think it would be crazy to ride it in the first place and with the Stebel air horn. Well, Crazy Train just kinda fit. |

I knick-named my XB9S "Little Sister" cause she's like the S2's lil' sis. She also has her own name, which she told me one day on a twisty mountain road somewhere in north Georgia, but that's just between me and her. |

Sandra. Great story behind the name involving a particular night at the Iowa Playhouse. Sandra is naked, wild, and if I'm not careful she will kick my ass. It fits. |

. . .and then there was "Roz" - my first Buell, a 1998 S3T. She was named after "Rosinante", Don Quixote's horse and partner in his windmill tilting. There is/was another here who also named his Buell Roz - but I still believe I was first. Roz expired at about 40k miles due to the after effects of a failed engine mount bolt/broken head. She became an organ donor and now contributes to the lives of other Buells all over the world. RIP "Roz" . . .

Most of my vehicles have had names reflecting their characters in some way... My RD250 (first bike) was "Rapid Death", my FT500 (second bike) was "Fugly Transport"... My Charger was "Francine" after the ZZ Top song... There was my matt black Beetle, "Rusty, the stealth Bug"... My streetfighter'd GSXR was Krusty, after Krusty the Clown... In the current fleet there is "Val", my Valiant Pacer, "Misty" or "Mistress F", my F100... and my X1 didn't have a name until Vampress called him "X" one day, and it stuck |

Mine's name is "Lucky", because I'm lucky to be alive and able to ride (bad crash back in'04), and because I'm lucky to have her. My s.o. calls her "The Other Woman." I guess I'm also lucky that Julie's not the jealous type. Oh, and her bike's named "Blue." |

I named mine after my wife. I find that when having a affair with another woman it is best to keep names as similar as possible |

My first girl was named "Matilda", or "Tilly" for short, for no other reason, then it seemed to fit.
My current guy is "Zed" as he is a zepphyr.
Obvious but easy. Also, that he was a wedding gift, so Z(from the end of the alphabet) as I found him at the end of my search from a-z for the right guy V (Message edited by vampress on November 30, 2008) |

My first Buell was named Horse and my second Buell was named Feathers. Together they were Horse Feathers. It was an exclamation my Grannie used all the time instead of "horse shite". My Viffer was named Vroom-Vroom by my wife Kim. I didn't name the ST1300 cause we never hit it off. My current ride is Pearl, she's a pearl white Victory Vegas. We name all of our cars... my wife's Milan is named Sofie and the F-150 is named Toto cause it was made in Kansas City. Most all of the bikes I've owned have been named all the way back to my first mini-bike which was named Green Ghost. |
