If they do it as before, you show your buell key at the show, they hand you the shirt. |

I guess that means I have to find my real buell key. Unless the Mud Bug is working our local show. |

It figures, the year they move the IMS away from Atlanta... Those bastards! Last year I got a freaking sticker or patch or whatever it was, and this year I'll miss out on a t-shirt. |

Can't understand why with over half a million registered motorcycles in FL, we are ignored year after year by IMS. The closest show this year is Greenville, SC (600 miles from the Tampa Bay area). Seems like it would make sense to have one of the stops in Orlando. (Message edited by aeholton on October 15, 2008) |

You think that is bad, they start with the warmer states first where they can have demos, then move up to the colder states so it is the dead of winter. No demos, crap weather |

Hehehehe. . . . the manufacturers have nothing to do with the schedule it's a product of negotiation for Avanstar and the venues. There were two years in a row that I went to each and every show as an advocate for Buell before HD got the Buell act together at the shows. Tons of great stories, memories and left overs from those days. It was often a big shock to leave Kansas City late at night and land someplace else with a big weather change. For several years I did the "Court Canfield - gads I love this sport" rides at the venues where weather allowed riding. There was the cutest gal at one of the first ones, some 13 years ago, who you now know as "D" and she's even cuter now! I used to take anybody and everybody who had any interest in these newfangled bikes out riding. I also trashed one of the first S-1's in 1997 (old timers will recall the show I put on at Disneyland for the 3 bus loads of Japanese tourists on Ketlla in front of the expo center. The next week it was off to San Fran and Alice's restaurant where the rider of a Ducati Super-lite was admiring my Buell. I walked past, tossed him the keys and told him "see ya in an hour". To my surprise he tossed me the keys to the Duc and we spent the next hour having a blast. The following weekend an architect who was a Buell fan threw a party for me in some place called Queen Anne Hill in Seattle and that's where I met Mike Bledsloe (you've heard of his nephew Drew) who helped me design the framework for TEAM BUELL. I still have the original documents and someday, if it got implemented, I'm quite confident that most the Buell dealer issues would evaporate. Seattle was also where I kinda "purloined" a Buell from Juneau Avenue and it "kinda disappeared" on a trailer behind an SHO and ended up on display (after some folks had told me there weren't any . . . . hey, I found it fair and square). Seattle is also where the guys, mostly Triumph riders, from Intel inducted me into the DTFR club. I ended up in Seattle and Portland 4 times that year and recall getting an enthusiastic enthusiastic call from a local named Jerry Haughton who was interested in Buells. Although I don't know who it was, there was a rumor that some fellow actually rode to all the shows one year. That would be fun to do on a Ulysses. By the way . . . . I don't know where that shirt came from but it tells me that something, somewhere has changed. It harkens back to the L/C shirts of 1995 and the "Come to Your Senses" S2 shirts. Very cool. The stuff coming from motorclothes the last couple years has been lame. I really dig this new one! Ride safe, lean much and smile more . . . . it's a gorgeous fall day and I've got nothing until a law class at 6:10 . . . my butt is outta here on my Buell today . . . |

Foliage is turning nicely now, Did a north Jersey/ lower catskill loop last Friday. Awesome weather/run, took 23/6 north to Hawk's nest, 97 north to 55 east to 299 into New Paltz for late lunch. Nice day indeed. |

he manufacturers have nothing to do with the schedule it's a product of negotiation for Avanstar and the venues I know that the manufacturers have nothing to do with the scheduling, it just erks me they don't have the common sense to reverse the schedule in some way to facilitate the colder states first... |

I will take my wife's Blast key to the Seattle show for that shirt. It will go nicely with the Buell leather jacket I won at Legend HD/Buell's demo ride Saturday. Thanks Brian. |

In the past, the only way to "score" the shirt was have your key at an IMS show or eBay afterwards. I've never seen any of the IMS stuff on a dealer shelf (short of the 25th Anniv patch). |

Non-expired insurance card will do also. It is not like they are trying NOT to give these away, but they want SOMETHING to show that the recipient owns one of their bikes. |

That shirt is sweet. It is a bummer there won't be any demo's in Michigan's January weather. But hey, I'll probably ride my Uly there anyway, considering I'll be back in the US! |

For me, the show helps to make winter a little more bearable. I don't ride a whole lot in winter, and it gives me a chance to immerse myself in the world of motorcycling. I use the show to try on helmets and find the one that fits and feels best. I look at new models, and sit on them to see how they feel. Sometimes I buy an item (like gloves or Stebel horns). I get my glasses cleaned by Zooke and I get my boots shined by Doc Bailey's for free. I get a ton of free key rings from insurance companies and motorcycle riding school, as well as colorful kickstand plates. I talk to the people at the Buell display. Then afterwards, we get to go to the Dinosaur and eat BBQ. It's a great way to spend a winter's day in the Northeast. |

"Johnny, what day, I'll most likely only make sunday..." I like the idea of Sunday too actually. Saturday in Chicago is gonna be a nightmare. I'm gonna see if my gf can get us a room at a Marriot in Chicago for free that weekend. Fri-sat please the little woman...Sunday please myself to some eye candy. |

I will be there both Saturday & Sunday. And SoundRider may let me park my bike inside @ their display. IF they let me park it dirty... THEN I will do it. Otherwise I will have to resort to Adventure MUD. |
