Did anyone watch the presidential candidate debate last night? As someone NOT politically inclined and having little to no knowledge of each candidates pros and cons I found John McCain of no consequence. I found myself actually feeling sorry for him as the top of the hour approached.
He was clearly outgunned by Obama and I must say I was stunned by Obama's efforts to maintain his composure which was flawless.
If you base who's right and who's wrong strictly based on comfort level and candor I should think Barrack Obama would win the election running away.
I'm a registered Republican, so please don't misinterpret this as grand standing for Obama.
I voted for McCain in 2000, firmly believing in him. I'm afraid I don't believe any more, especially after Palin.
I hate to say it, but my biggest problem with Obama is that he ticks me off everytime I hear him: He sounds like a college professor that patronized me constantly and whom I always wanted to smash between the eyes.
Guess that's why the first people they take out in revolutions are the intellectuals and the lawyers.
Heh...I took a muscle relaxer to relieve a spasm in my back and was out cold by 9:15.
I'm voting Libertarian. There is no such thing as a Republican in this race, and Obama's (in my opinion) just smooth-talking his way into the White House. I don't trust him at all, and vehemently disagree with many of his policy proposals.
Ditto Darth. If we really want this elusive "change" everyone keeps talking about, then we're going to have to choose a whole different team of players. Both Republicans and Democrats have been in power too long to even know what "change" is anymore.
I don't think Presidents make much difference any more. If "We the People" want real change, we need to vote out every incumbent from the House and Senate in DC.Vote in fresh blood that's preferably NOT a career politician.

Leaders work with principles, managers work with policies. When a candidate says which companies "can afford to pay more taxes" I cringe. This is not a good policy. When another candidate talks about lowering taxes and reducing the size of government, I smile. I like these principles.
For the folks that can't understand this and choose not to follow the debates, I always say if you like higher taxes, vote Democrat. If you want them to stay the same or go down, vote Republican.
And I really don't care what other countries think about us. Worrying about what others think always gets us in trouble. We should live by principles that our Founding Fathers believed in and everything else will take care of itself.
